airann 1 #26 October 17, 2001 Truth or Dare Shyt... Getting REAL Scares the Hell outta me,Heres me anyway1) What is the lowest you have intentionally exited an aircraft (i.e. no emergency, fallout etc)? My hop and pop -One jump B 4 graduation, about 4000 to 6000 feet.2) What is the lowest you have gone WayLow intentionally (i.e. no loss of altitude awareness) I think 2100, ProTRack said 1800 in the saddle */- and I am thinking I got away with Stupid Shyt- Kinda Whew -Get this- Scotty Carbone was the only one who saw me and I cruze over to get something to drink and Unkel Scotty the ONLY time he has ever been quiet, ..... Says.. Ann! Where'd you PULL? I saw that! Uh.. Oh.....3) What is the most stupid/dangerous thing you have done in freefall? In freefall? I am pretty serious about my skills there -so I cant think of anything during freefall...The reaon is -being a girl- if I cant pull of shyt that I say I can- the guys will kick me to the curb, no stupid stuff or you are not back on a big way...(actually that goes for guys too) However, I did an exit the other day and forgot to tell a guy my right knee had a brace on it -and- to knee lock on my other one, so it got jerked outta whack. And I jumped in hail, once. 4) What is the closest you have come to killing yourself? I jumped when I was not ready. Mentally, Physically and Gear Wize. =Dangerous AND THEN AT BAND CAMP I almost did it again- About a year later. =Stupid AND THEN On a really big way freefly- about 8+ or a good more, I cant remember, I looked all around and I see one guy way below me tracking into my track, ...so I track to the right to adjust... -I take out pilot chute, look over my right shoulder to toss and check the air again...!., I just checked it and -nobody-...... BUT what and who do I see as my grasp was loosed on my hackey? -my favorite friend Tommy... Right above me trackin my track. ...~I let go... it was too late..~... Pulled on my left riser and ....I HEARD HIM... whiz by my right canopy end cell, it was too fast to see him. ...and then? NO and then...5) What gives you the biggest kick? not having answers to #3 & #4 ...Great Freefly form in myself, great skydives, (on film), good landings -where I dont break stuff like bones... AND mostly when my FF guys say Good Job.!!! 6) How many times have you been grounded?Technically - Never, but I did break stuff once. 7) How long is the longest grounding?I hung around the ground dwellers for about 4 weeks. Not long enough to actually heal all the way, but I jumped all wrapped up, air casted and braced -I felt like the Tin Man.8) What do you get grounded for?Injuries- Breaking stuff, 5 minor bones. First camera jump, I flew over pine trees, See Stupid.. add this one..... "Uh, hummm ...I am alive? ...canopy just like... fell to the earth... like really really fast" Like I said, first camera jump - all that I said is on tape. Can you say... Canopy with no air in it? 9) Any other comments………………….. Dude, you post a lot. Are you trying to break Zennie's record..... er somethin?Skydive~Friends~HappinessAirAnnhttp://www.AirAnn.com
freaksister 0 #27 October 17, 2001 Hmmm I'm boring too but here goes:1)Intentional exit: 2500 feet (s/l)2)Intentional low pull: 2200 feet (in the saddle by 1700 or so)3)The most stupid thing in freefall?? OH my...well, let's see: Not tracking on a 3-way Sunday and ended up being about 20 feet from my buddy after opening...so I watched his snivel...tracking along the line of flight on a solo sit Monday, pulling while on my back because I panicked (last spring sometime, saw lines and bag go right by my face, miraculously no mal)...doing weird jumps like tube jumps with Pyke with his totally shitty no-pin protection having rig...4)Closest to killing myself? The jump where I did a low turn, didn't flare, and landed on the asphalt runway...as a student...road rash sucks OR this is a little different, but I jumped once after four glasses of wine...didn't have any problems but could have been bad...jumped the other day five minutes after waking up still hungover...5)Biggest kick? Freeflying6) Never been grounded7)never been grounded8)never been grounded9) I hope I don't do anything else stupid but you never know.SisMusic should trigger some kind of response... - The Chemical Brothers
Kris 0 #28 October 17, 2001 1) What is the lowest you have intentionally exited an aircraft (i.e. no emergency, fallout etc)?1850. When we took off the clouds were at 2500 but could only get to 2K and then we lost a bit more altitude by the time I climbed out. I knew I was getting out low so I packed my Sabre to open fast. It was a bit too fast... Ouch!2) What is the lowest you have gone WayLow intentionally (i.e. no loss of altitude awareness) ?1700. Quincy 2000, had an idiot 800' above me following me while I was tracking away. I zigged, zagged, they followed. I finally had to decide to suck it down and deploy a bit under 2K to be safe. My normal pull altitude is 2500', as in, the pilot chute is leaving my hand by 2500'3) What is the most stupid/dangerous thing you have done in freefall? My first jump off of student status was a 4-way, not the brightest idea.4) What is the closest you have come to killing yourself? While learning to swoop some friends on a two-way offered to let me try to swoop to them. I waited 3-seconds and bailed. Found them, aimed to the side and started hauling ass. The drifted towards me, I flared out too late and passed by my buddy Larry with less than a foot to spare and I was easily going 50mph faster than they were.5) What gives you the biggest kick? The fact that I can skydive, period. 6) How many times have you been grounded?.5 I got a real stern talking to after turning one of my student 10-second delays into a 30-second flail-fest and was told to take a few hours to reflect and catch the sunset load instead of the next one.7) How long is the longest grounding7-hours, see above8) What do you get grounded for?See #69) Any other comments…………………..Damn, I love this sport!Kris
Brokeneagle 0 #29 October 17, 2001 Here's another tame one for ya, 3fLiEr- 1. 25002. 20003. almost wasted too much time trying to find throw-out pilot chute on a demo rig.4. on spot/clear and pull jump to get off student status, main handle got caught on closed seat-belt, deployed inside plane as I was climbing out, fast-thinking friend threw whole thing out as I balanced on the strut- jerked me off the wing instead of thru the side of the plane at 10,000 feet.5. seeing the joy in a friend's face the first time they experience freefall, or being part of the joy that envelopes us all that IS freefall...6. couple of times- medical reasons, tho- slipped disk in back, broken leg and ankle, junk like that.7. almost a full year- reconstructive leg surgery (two times)8. see #69. grounding's shit no matter what the reason, once you are a skydiver, the ground is never enough...Brokeneagle. I'm really very gentle, no matter what my kung-fu teacher says...
3fLiEr 0 #30 October 17, 2001 I can now see why I did not get the response I expected on the "lack of freedom" thread previously. I would have believed that more people in the sport would like to push the rules somewhat - due to the nature of the sport - but it seems that most are conservative and safe in their approach - except where people think its safe to lob out on 2+ ways FF without experience - mmmmmm...... I would say thats more dangerous than taking it WayLow........... just my opinion...........Thanks for the responses people - its been entertaining.BSBD
billvon 3,073 #31 October 17, 2001 1) What is the lowest you have intentionally exited an aircraft (i.e. no emergency, fallout etc)? About 12002) What is the lowest you have gone WayLow intentionally (i.e. no loss of altitude awareness) ?Maybe 1000 feet on a 4-way. I was the highest opener on that load.3) What is the most stupid/dangerous thing you have done in freefall? That dive. Launching a four-way from 4000 feet, and turning seven points before breakoff, is sort of dumb.4) What is the closest you have come to killing yourself?Probably BASE jump #12. Alone off a 230 foot crane at night.5) What gives you the biggest kick?Flying within a hundred feet or so of a cloud column6) How many times have you been grounded?Grounded myself once (after above stupid dive) and grounded two other people back when I was an S+TA.-bill von

Poor Larry.... he took me out on a "swoop" dive shortly after I graduated, the first few went really well, but I miss-judged my last swoop, was headed straight for his back, realized that it was already too late to flare out, went into sort of a flailing head-down to try to side step him, and actually clipped the side of him as I fumbled past him! lol I don't think I was going that much faster than him at that point, so I didn't hit him too hard... got really lucky on that one now that I think about it. And of course you know how laid back Larry is, he was like, "hey man, don't worry about it... it was fun!" with a big-ass grin on his face. Gawd, I hope everyone I try to kill is that nice! lol"Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
