Slappie 9 #1 September 30, 2001 I finished my afp course yesterday and I did it in STYLE!!!The winds were going strongly from the north. With the restrictions on class B airspace the line comes right through the middle of our DZ and the pilot/DZO has to let jump run go south of the DZ {At least were jumping, sorry for the DZ stuck and can't jump} Me and a couple others sat and watched a few loads have to land out of the DZ so we wound up being the ground crew!! Got back on manifest about 2 hours later. I was nervous again because of the winds. Was very worried about landing off and my ability to land safely. Discussed this with my JM he laffed at me in a joking way and told me I was fine because all my landings had been really good. Decided to do a head-down exit!! We got loaded on the plane. I wasn't going to be last out. I'm always last out! Got to the door set up for our exit! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........ HEAD DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My JM released me and I held it!!!!! BAD ASSSSSS BAYBAY!!!! Then came time for my final "student jump" it was the Hop-N-Pop. Got on manifest this time without having to fill out a flight plan The red light comes on and I get in the door my JM is laying down getting it on video! I exit belly down HAHAHA NOT!!! It was a hybrid "floater, sit, head down" exit! I Was at 6000' so I knew I had time to get stable. Pulled at 4000' and looked around only WWfaller was in the air with me. Did some 360's to loose some altitude and came in for my landing pattern. Stood it up right next to the Blade! ACED my last "student jump" stood out in the landing area for a few second which felt like minutes and reflected on everything I had done in the past few months. Remember guys my first tandem jump was July 14th. I am done with AFP! Time for BEEEEEEEERRRRRRRROn other notes:cyberskydiver with AirAnn made it out and did a jump or two was great to see cyber & AirAnn get a jump. Jumperpaula was working witht he RW guys and Zennie and I hung out in between our jumps. Ramon shows up and was kinda hurting from a "weight lifting" accident "Yea Right" heheh Rodeo sex doesn't count Ramon!! Zennie was trying to leave, I stopped him with some lame excuse about Jumperpaula wanting to talk to him before he left... We got him out on the beer-line and WHAM PIEEEEE!!!!! for his 100 Video and pictures to follow I hope....All in all I had a wonderful day at the DZ.... Thinking of going back out this afternoon and getting some solo jumps just to DO IT!! Because now if I want a load all I have to do is SIGN UP!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Hopefully Zennie will be around and we can jump together...Sorry all my chat server was "smurfed" and is down at this time talked to the Admins this morning and it should be up soon..... I'm also thinking of moving it to another server we'll see what happens. Keep your eyes open for the new and improved Slappie.Com!!! Zennie 0 #9 September 30, 2001 QuoteWe got him out on the beer-line and WHAM PIEEEEE!First off, congrats on graduating! The grad jump was a blast, but I'll defer to you to tell everyone the story! Now as far as this pie matter goes, all I gotta say is "Mmmmmmmm.... lemon merengue..." I knew something was up when everyone is going "No, no you can't go, Paula needs to talk to you." Hmmm. Might it be related to the fact that I was just discussing pie the day before with Ann & Paula? Could that pie in manifest really be for everyone to share? BZZZT!!! But hey, whoever bought it at least bought a tasty one. "Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper." Zennie 0 #15 October 1, 2001 QuoteHey, TO HELL with Tasty! I was goin for WAYYY MESSSYY !! Gang, Paula is a master at pie selection & application. She managed to get an entire pie on my face with practically no collateral pie spillage. Very impressive! QuoteZen has tasty kisses with pie on his faceThat must be the correllary to the "everybody is ugly in freefall" rule... everybody is ugly, but tasty, with pie on their face. Slappie 9 #16 October 1, 2001 QuoteI'll defer to you to tell everyone the story! Not much of a story. Just like all Graduation jumps I flailed!! hehehehe had a blast though Zennie.Started off I was going to try and jump a sit-fly with Zennie and Matt{non dz.com guy} We were talking about it and then some other guy {can't remember his name but he likes to lurk peoples jumps} wanted in so I reluctently said ok. Then he starts asking others and stuff. I was getting nervous, I just wanted a small 3-way with people I knew pretty well from sitting around talking. Well anyway we got in the plane rode to alti! What a trip not being in the back of the plane and trying to remember everything I had to preform!! was a nice TRY... Flipped over on my belly and watch Zennie back sliding away checked alti, was thinking I might try to catch Zennie in a track. Then decided naw he's to far away. played around on my belly for a sec and flipped back onto my back and watch Matt again try to catch me in a stand. "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee there goes Matt again" LOL. You have to under stand Matt is a serious "floater" to keep up with me and Zennie in sits he had to go to a stand! we all broke off and pulled about 4500 {for me anyway} and landed safely everyone was laffing and had a good time...Next load was about 2 hours later. I went on a solo... plane ride was wierd because I was all alone on this jump. My JM was in the back going over his jump with a fresh student. I have been looking forward to just getting out and doing whatever I please!! watched as the other free flyers left and nailed head downs and wondered what it felt like to be that good... RED LIGHT had to do a second pass. Whoa! I was just about to get in the door too! Anyway got around an on the second pass there was 2 more FF leaving in headdowns I watched and was so amazed at how fast they fall!! I got in the door "Ready-Set-Goooooooooooooo!" BAMMMMMMM!!!! OUCH THAT SHIT HURT!!!! I smacked my left thumb against the door on the way out! It felt like hitting your thumb with a 22oz Framing Hammer. Which I have done before. But I held my sit!! YaY! Ramon had showed me how to transition back to a sit if I got on my back again. I practiced that and it works!! waaaahooooooo!! Flew in to the landing area thumb throbbing and a huge smile on my face, I nailed the landing so softly I wondered if I had actually landed!! hehehe. I was still quite dazed from the whole idea of being alone in the air! I'm having a blast now!! Zennie 0 #20 October 1, 2001 Quotewe all broke off and pulled about 4500 I wound up pulling around 3000 (in the saddle @ 2500).I would have pulled higher except our lurking friend, who is trying to learn how to fly camera (sans camera right now), didn't pull like a camera flier is supposed to pull (and how I had asked him on the ride up) -- right when we turn & track.I'm at the end of my track & do my quick look above and see him still flying over me (quite a ways up, but over me nonetheless). So I continued tracking, took it down to 3000 and waved like mad hoping he'd get the idea."Wear the grudge like a crown. Desperate to control. Unable to forgive. And we're sinking deeper."
