Wow finally someone I can agree with.
There was a thread awhile back asking if skydivers have changed much over the years. I was recently back into jumping after a 20 yr layoff. Well at my dropzone they're not much different, but on here what a bunch of ass holes! 20 yrs ago you would have been run off any decent drop zone.
There are some good folks on here, but most of you just plain make me sick. You can slam me back all you want. You guys I'm sure will entertain each other at my expense, but I wont be here. I am deleting DZ.com from my computer and my life. I really feel sorry for Sangiro, he tried to have a little fun open a site for skydivers and he got you people! How sad.

Biguns- you do realize in generalizing all skydivers you are also putting Spectre in that catagory? Just a thought.
To those who don't like the 'class' of people on here, I don't know what to say other then this....I have met many in my life who I've completely disliked, and others I've cared for a lot as friends. I can't make a general comment about any of them as a 'group' because they are individuals, not a 'clump'. Even my family piss me off from time-to-time, but I don't just walk away and say "screw you, I don't like what you have to say", same with my friends. I don't have to agree or like everything that someone says or does to want to know them. If they do or feel a certain way I don't like, I just agree to disagree and move on. Now, if someone is personally offensive, I may be hurt and upset about it, but in the end, not everyone will like me and that's that. They certainly aren't all going to agree with me. And childish diatribes are just that, childish.
I'm sorry you guys feel that way. I have met some really great people on here, and some not so great. I've not physically met all of those I call my friends (Skreamer for instance), but I have met a few of you (Cloud9, you for instance). I've even argued with some of you, but hey, I enjoy a spirited debate...I learn viewpoints that had never occurred to me from them sometimes.
You don't like the insults, do like we tell our kids, ignore them. Reponding only feeds the fire.
Besides, I need something to do at work all day :)

For some reason I'm not buying this. I've only seen a few "assholes" around this board, most are good people. I really doubt that anyone sent you nasty emails.
If anyone did send an email to Biguns (Or even Spectre) let us know. I seriously doubt anyone did.
And how exactly did someone find your cell phone number?
Haven't you had enough fun with this board and your stories of granduer? Cut it out or move on.

I have never posted a negative comment about anything, but I just can't leave this one alone.
Biguns, you came online, and teased everyone with a topless picture of yourself with your nipples covered, and asked everyone to guess your boyfriend so they could see the real deal. No one asked you to do that. Then, when the thread turned to other comments, you came back on and egged the guys some more to guess so you could show your picture. Finally, Michele figured it out for us, and sure enough, you posted a totally topless picture of yourself, where it looked like to me that you were really enjoying yourself.
And, now you want the e-mails to stop. I'm not saying it is right for any man to send a woman a suggestive e-mail, if that 's the nature that it was, but tell me please...are you really surprised at the consequences of your actions?
Here's another thought. Check out how many registered users there are on dz.com and compare it to the number of e-mails that you received. There's bound to be some bad apples in any, I mean ANY group of people that you get together.
I am proud to say I am a skydiver. As you can tell from any skydiving tragedy that we have had, we are a close knit group and we look out for one another and feel for one another. I consider my group of friends at the dz, and here online, to be part of my extended family. Sure, they piss me off every once in a while, as I'm sure I do them, but when the chips are down, I know they'll be there for me.
Sorry for the negative post y'all...I just wanted to stand up for my buddies.

That's a valid point. Skydivers tend to speak their mind, and if you get someone going, expect to get flamed. There are people uncomfortable with directness; if you're one of them, you might not like it at a DZ.

Correct. We are not notably politically correct, and often offend whuffos. If your goal is money, you'd be better off with politically correct professionals who dress up and speak with great respect to their passengers.

You are completely wrong on this. I've met thousands of skydivers in my life, and very, very few of them are as you describe. This board in particular contains mainly good people. Posts from newbies asking advice get deluged with replies; people who have had tragedy in their lives get nothing but support.

As one of those "PC dropzone.com police" - specifically, the one who organizes nude dives at quincy every year and moderates the S+T board - I find that pretty funny.
