Tats! Tats! Lots of Tats!

Recommended Posts

Either there are a lot of people unemployed, or we're not working too hard today. Considering it's an afternoon of bludging on the internet today lets talk Tattoos...
Anyone have some good skydiving tats? I want to get one, but just can't figure out what to get, and... well, where to put it. So what do ya think?
Also, is it just me, or does it seem like there are two things a lot of chicks seem to be doing lately when they hit 30: get a tat, and to skydiving... (I'm not hitting 30, and definately not a chick)
Cheers,

Shit, having done both already, I wonder what the hell I'll come up with when I turn 30?!

hmmm...I have my tattoo studio chosen, and the artist wants to do my "canopy" tattoo, but I have to have the money. Plus I want to wait for winter when I jump less because it will hurt if I get a tat and then go jump.
I know a girl who has a 3-ring system tattooed on her shoulders...personally, I think its weird looking, but that's just me.

PS - most of you know I have two tattoos already, they just aren't skydiving oriented. One is a crescent moon smoking aj joint and the other is a tribal anklet...both are on my ankles.
I lust for the ultimate rush...

Seen 2 skydivers at my home DZ with tattoos. The guy has chicken feet spiraling up his leg (never had the nerve to ask why that tat) and the girl has a cool BFR running around her ankle. The last one almost inspired me to get one of my own!

There's a guy at Cross Keys named Mike that has a brand new gorgeous tat on his upper arm. It has farmland type ground with different color blocks like from high up, a guy swooping in under multi colored canopy in the foreground, another guy under canopy high up in the blue sky with puffy white clouds, and he's going to have some freeflyers thrown in at the top.
It's beautiful, like a painting. I actually have the opportunity to get a free tat next week from a friend of a friend I'm visiting in LA (I'll be at Perris 9/7 or 9/8). I'm wondering what I should get myself.

Damn, I'm disappointed >:(
I went onto this thread that said "Tats" thinking it was going to be some sort of visual demonstration of the old phrase, "Tit for Tat!"
Just goes to show you what a one-track mind I have.:D

Well, fallin woman, I dont' have a tattoo, but I haven't ruled out getting one. A friend of mine runs the Baltimore Tattoo museum, and gave my brother a couple of tiny tattoos of black ants crawling on his hand. It was cool.
But given the phrase, "Tit for Tat", I'd say, if you have Tits, it would not be a very equitable trade!!:D!

Am I the only skydiver who doesn't have a tattoo and doesn't want one???

I don't have a tattoo, and whenever I think 'those tribal tattoos look really cool' all I need to do is remind myself of what it will look like in say twenty years.....
Let's just say that some tattoos look really good......on other people! (Yeah, I'm a wimp)

I have nothing against tatoos, but I just don't want one myself. First of all, I can't think of an image that I can guarantee I'd always want to have on my skin. I personally wouldn't get one that I wasn't that positive about. Taking a belt sander to it in 20 years to remove it would hurt like hell.
There are plenty of people I know that have cool ones, that make me think, "Yeah. That fits them perfectly." Maybe I just haven't found my tatoo calling yet.
