Tats! Tats! Lots of Tats!

Tats are nasty! As are piercings! hehe
I would never degrade my body in such a way!
bwahahaha!

Okay, sugar, I'll bite!!;)
Having one tat and several body piercings...I can only say that piercings are the way to go if you (in the general sense) want to decorate your body, but don't want to fall victim to the age old argument of "what if I don't want it in years to come"...you can always take it out with nothing more than a pin mark for a scar. All of my body piercings were done to signify some event, something significant to my life.
As was my tattoo...I have a tribal Silver Fern starting from a koru going from the center of my back on the left blade and wrapping over the top of my shoulder to the center of my left breast - just above my nipple. Having spent so many years in NZ and being half Kiwi...I didn't want a Maori tattoo because of the significance of the Maori and the fact that I ain't one...and I wanted something to remind me of my time spent in my mothers homeland and how significant to my life it was (just ask Sis how significant it was). So....will I want it in years to come...sure, DAMN RIGHT I will...wouldn't have gotten it if I didn't think I would. Will it fade...yes. will it run...yes. Do I care...not really. hell in 10 years I may have it redone (it was done kinda crappy the first time :() and make it better!!
So, Pammi, are they nasty....probably. But that is in the eye of the beholder. I look at my shoulder everyday in the mirror and am proud to wear my silver fern. My mother...who is the WORLDS biggest hater of all body adornments...absolutely loves it...because it is pretty. She hates my body piercings...but having two sons with them covering most of their respective body parts...she is glad her kids aren't "normal" preppie over achievers. At least she has something interesting to contribute to a conversation with her girlfriends that isn't as embarrassing as "my son's in rehab, prison, or dead already".
Now, I skydive...so that makes my Mum even more "dis" popular with her girlfriends!!
So, you wanted a reaction..and you got one. Now...as far as degrading your body....well, dying your beautiful hair is certainly one way to go about it!!!!;) - says the man who has dyed his hair numerous times!!!:D

Pammi, you are so bad! :D
Pyke, Pammi has tats, so you don't need to explain anything to her. LOL! Goes to show you shouldn't take anyone seriously on these forums.

I dont have any skydiving related tats. Ive only seen one that was really any good. They never seem to get the canopy right.
Otherwise I have 4 tats and no curent piercings.
I have:
a black tribal in my left calf - I got it the night before I tested for my 1st degree black belt
a Native American war feather on my right calf - cuz I'm part (a very small part) NA
a colorful tribal on my inside left calf - ok, this one was for fun
crosshairs with 'Sniper" and the Chinese symbol for 'strength' on my left shoulder - got that cuz, well, thats what I do
Its all good.

Pammi:
You're so bad girl! (You little trouble maker)
You just happen to be braver than me. I thought about the tat, but I just couldn't get past getting old and having my skin sagging and it looking like sh*t. Not that sagging skin is attractive in the first place.
And I'd really like to get my tongue pierced, but I've heard that people start having problems with their teeth because they keep banging the thing against the side of their teeth. That would be me, I'd be playing with that thing in my mouth all the time!!

Yeah, 3 tats to be exact... plus two piercings (and she wants another that I'm not too happy about). She also wants another tat that I designed for her. It's a woman's head/neck area looking up toward the sky with her hands stretched toward the sky, she has long flowing hair that's blowing upward in a breeze that's coming from below her somehow, beads & such dangling between her fingers, a big hawk above her with wings spread around her, all set in a moon with celtic knots all around the outside of it.
Damn that's a long description, but she wanted something to signify 'flight' without actually putting a canopy on her back or something. It'll go in the small of her back, and is dead sexy if I must say! ;) It still needs some work, but I think it will be cool once it's finished!

HEHE! Me? Tats? Okay, well maybe one...or perhaps three! At least one more when jumping slows down so I can spend the $$ on it, cuz it's gonna be a doozy! And let's see, navel ring that didn't work out (heal) so that was gone..did that twice (besides, now I see 12 year olds with them so that's too weird for me to want one now!), tongue ring and nose ring now . Would like an eyebrow ring too, but don't want to give a prospective employer TOO much to gawk at, so holding off on that for now. :) I also intend on getting a clit ring soon, also when I can spend the $$ ...
It's all good fun :) Hair, body, whatever...it's just my package, not me :) Decorating it is fun! I just do different things when I get bored with what I've seen every day for too long :)
Gotcha Pyke :)
(Oh, I see Merrick beat me to answering..lol)

OH! And Diva - they can be very tempting to chomp on, but I used to grind my teeth when nervous or stressed anyway, so now I have a barbell instead that I play with. It's something I have to think about NOT doing sometimes...and I also usually have a barbell that doesn't have metal balls too...they aren't quite so bad on the teeth if you accidentally bite one or play with it too much. :) As for the sexual things that are supposed to be better because of a tongue ring...I heard beforehand that they aren't true from others. I have to say that I would agree, since I'm on the giving and receiving end. But I love to kiss someone with one..it's kinda neat, and I think it's sexy looking.
As for sagging...I intentionally tried to get parts of my body that hopefully won't sag 'as much', such as not getting something on my butt...but regardless, I don't care if they do too much. They aren't in extremely obvious places when wearing 'normal' clothes and my kids already think I'm weird, so a tattoo'd grandma will be 'par for the course' :)A new page! Bi-Plane pics!

I'll probably get a belly ring or stud (I can't decide) at the end of Sept., because I told my best friend that I would if she did a tandem. Pammi actually made me afraid of getting one when she told me a few months back how her belly ring got infected. But, since my friend made me come up with something that I am just as afraid of doing as much as she is about doing a tandem, that's all I could come up with since I am pretty much game for anything. I'll skydive, but I'm afraid of puss-how warped is that!
As far as a tat goes, I'm thinking of getting a simple stick figure skydiver under canopy, coming in for landing over my, uh...drop zone! ;)

I do not have any skydiving tattoos, but DO have an awful lot of others. Both of my legs, from the knees down, are fully covered. It is a deep sea-type motif, with lots of tropical fish and sea creatures, a chainsaw fish (doesn't exist in nature), a diver with flames on his tank, some negative space which approximates kelp, and the rest is blue water and coral. VERY FUCKING COOL work done by Greg Eppy, the owner of Paradise Tattoos in Key West, FL. My right upper-arm is covered with a biomechanical shark and some wierd shit in a quarter sleeve. Aaron Cain did it. Left arm has my motorcycle club insignia done as a band and another club-related icon. I have thought about some skydive related stuff, but as often as I change gear, it might not be prudent to get a jumper.

Good one Pammi! I had thought that Sis had told me about some of your tattoos and stuff...in fact...I think I recall seeing the one on your chest poking through in a photo.
So you got me! I wasn't taking you serious to begin with...just thought I would contribute to the posting.
And as far as tongue rings go...am going on 9 years with mine and I can vouch for the "destroys your teeth" I was the first tongue ring my dentist had ever seen....then EVERYBODY started getting them...and now he says he will give me 100$ to take it out. He hates looking at my Xrays now compared to what they used to look like. Can't help it though...I got it for a reason...and keep for that same reason. Stupid yes...but then again...THAT'S ME!!!!

Ed, one of the JM's at Perris has a cypres tat on the back of his neck. Pretty cool.
As for me, I always wanted one, I've just never been able to decide what to get. I don't want to pick something and then change my mind later. I buddy of mine is in the process of getting some of his removed with the laser. Multiple trips, really expensive, and it hurts a lot more that the actuall tat itself. He ran out of money, and now they're half removed and really look shitty. I guess I just have to find the right one for me.
-can't you trip like I do-

Well....I dont have any yet. A tat would have to mean something to me other than just being art. Every time I have thought something was important enough for a tat I just never got around to it. I'm very glad now that I decided against it. I would really hate to have a reminder of things I'm not fond of now! So, maybe some day I'll find something to that suits me. I have been putting some thought into it lately and have a couple ideas. We'll see what happens.

Well, two of mine mean something and one of mine is just art with my tats. The first I got of a little devil because I was always the 'good girl' and am usually quiet around most people unless I really know you. The other is a heart with barbed wire wrapped around it. I got that after a divorce :) It held true until Merrick..no one got thru til him. Now I'm considering changing the wire to vines, or putting wirecutters or something with Merrick's name. I really don't like using names tho, it's bad luck. The last is just pretty...yellow rose, butterflies, vines and such on my shoulder. The best quality one tho.
Skymama..don't let my navel thing scare you, K? I just don't heal really well with piercings...even my ears are only pierced once for that reason. My tongue was really easy for some reason, but my nose still bleeds some and is taking a while to heal. They say your overall general health makes a difference. How you're eatting, taking vitamins, getting rest...all of that, and I'm not generally the most healthy living person. Plus my mom is the same way, so I think it's kinda genetics that I just heal slower. Try a gold ring if you can afford it...if I ever did try it again, or my daughter does, I've heard it's much, much better for healing. That's why I got gold with my nose ring.

I'm with Pammi on this one Andrea. I've had mine less than a week and it is already starting to heal nicely. Follow the directions that the guy gives you and keep your hands (and everyone elses) off it until it is healed. Hopefully I can still say this in a month, but so far I am pleased with it and everyone thinks it is neat because they think I am so conservative and it is so unlike me.
You best have one when you come up or I'm taking you to get it!!!!!!!

I've got the USPA logo on my right arm. Just like the sticker they send you with licenses, etc. A lot of whuffos think it's an airborne tattoo, so there's usually some explaining to be done. I figure I'm covered if anybody ever tries to convince me to quit jumping: "I can't quit, I've got the tattoo." :-)

I wanted a bigger dick tattooed on mine but the guy said it wouldn't fit, so I opted for a thorny band around my right ankle.

That's funny. I have two friends with tattoos on their glans meatus: one has a hammerhead shark along the length of it, and the other has two bite marks, with blood dripping down (like a female vampire bit it). Fucking idiots. LOL!

I have a pink closing pin tatoo on the top of my ass. It's really cute.

Yes your ass is very cute. Oh wait, you meant the tat didn't you? Well that too. ;)
