Thrill seekers?

Recommended Posts

Wow, after coming home and reading all the replies it sure is a relief that I’m not the only freakin nutcase here. J/K. In all seriousness, this has got to be one of the most interesting threads I’ve read here in a long time.

I know that others have said this, but this thread is so interesting. (I never thought I would find something like this on a skydiving web site) :o Its really great to know that there are many other people out there that are a lot like me and that we all share a lot of the same traits that make us so unique.B|

LOL!, yeah, I know what you mean. I’ve been on here quite awhile and this site is as unique to the web as skydivers are to the general population. I could probably learn how to program my VCR on here if I asked. Come to think of it, how does that damn thing work?

You should come up to Skydive Dallas for labor day weekend! We're having a HUMUNGO party complete with hog roast (bleah) and beer & stuff.
The only DZs I've been to are Skydive Dallas, Skydive Texas, And Skydive San Marcos. I'd like to check out Temple one of these days, but it's a bit of a haul from Dallas.
"Relative" has so many meanings. Pick one. ;)

Thankyou thankyou thankyou one and all. (group hug please)
Here I was feeling so sorry for my miserable, lonely little self, missing someone sooooo badly, and my shoulder is stuffed again so i can't jump (it's bloodywell raining anyway!), And now I am laughing my ass off.
It is soo good to know so many of us are a little off-centre.
Having survived a childhood from hell, violent marriage, suicide of a loved one, and other crap, some months ago I was told I was depressed (having ended my 2nd crappy marriage and met the most wonderful man on Earth) and given drugs that sent me off to loony-land. After 4 days I stopped the drugs (flavour-of-the-month happiness through chemistry stuff), talked to anyone who would listen, started seeing a psychologist, jumped a lot, skipped the country and family for a few weeks and now I'm fine (really I am, really really I am.....hee hee).
As a teacher I find the whole ADD/ADHD debate fascinating. I could go on for ages about it - suffice to say I think most kids don't have it and there will be dire consequences in the future for most of the kids that are on speed now.
I have always wanted the freedom that comes from jumping. I am responsible for me when I jump and when I jump alone I am ONLY responsible for me. In the sky I am not a mother, daughter, wife, teacher, sister - just ME, all alone, independent and self-sufficient. I know it's not that simple but that's how I feel. No one can get to me when I'm in the air by myself - and I love it!
And yeah - I am gregarious, disorganised, intelligent (?) and so determined and persistent it drives my friends up the wall,
slappie - I will jump with you anytime........just don't try and correct my english - that scares the shit outtta me!
btw - SEX has everything to do with skydiving and hyperactivity. I think that most hyperactive/ADD/ADHD/thrillseeking/skydiving loonies like us have an addiction to sex also..............and loving it
Go for it ALL
Sue

Yeah NS Viking, I just stopped in here looking to see the aftermath of Skreamer's 1000th, and this stuff is fascinating. I was diagnosed with ADD the first time I tried to fail out of school, and started taking Adderall. It didn't really help; my mind moved lots faster but it still jumped from subject to subject to subject. I'd make 30-item lists of things I needed to get done that day, and when the Adderall wore off I would think to myself "Whoa there buddy, getting a little too ambitious!!" Funny thing is that everything on the list was relevant, if not the most important thing to be doing at the time. It was like my mind suddenly started poking into the neglected corners of my memory and finding all these things I'd thought about doing but never gotten around to...

I'm with ya on that one, skySue... but it sure is another way for the GIANT pharmacui ... pharmacuit .... pharmacuti, oh shit - the drug companies -- to get damn rich!
I'm glad that you are leading a "closer to normal" life now ('cause we all know that not one of here is actually "normal" -- right?!?)... Do ya find that when you are skydiving everything gets cleared up for a bit...?
