DSL is great if 1) you live within 15,000 ft of the dslam and not anywhere near anything that will cause line noise. Yes, I have even heard of security lights causing outtages and forget it if you live anywhere near an airport! Make sure you install a splitter too. It will help out a lot of things. Funny, I dont even work with DSL but Bellsouth decided I needed to go get certified on it?????? fred 0 #6 August 22, 2001 I'm confused as to why DSL or Cable wouldn't be "worth a shit". Even with congestion problems during primetime, my experience with cable modems has been wonderful. I myself have DSL (IDSL, because I'm 16.5k from the CO), and the speed difference is amazing over a 56k dialup. Of course, I have a low latency, routed connection.
