RemiAndKaren 0 #1 August 6, 2001 For those who aren't at Quincy right now.... A quick report on last week's Espace Boogie in LapalisseWell, Its been a fun Boogie!Way smaller then last year (and according to the old hands, last year was already smaller then the previous years). No special plane or chopper this year (for those who did not know, there usually is a BIG plane at Espace: there have been MI 26 choppers -125 people -; AN 72 jet with 75 slots, and way back then a stretch Herc) as the turbine DC3 could not make it... [sad] probably why it was smaller this year.BUT in the face of adversity, fun prevailed!!The 2 Skyvans and 2 Super Otters provided the lift to 14,500, and on the RW side, there were 4 groups of 20 to 16, some groups doing some pretty complicated stuff (most of our jumps involve back ins, or side by side base set-ups). Did a couple of 54 ways too...Karen and I manage to squeeze in 40 jumps each (35 RW from 6 to 54 ways - mostly 12 to 16 ways; 1 two way rodeo; 1 thirteen way track; 1 twelve way pylon race; and 2 fifteen way hoop dives) in the 8 days we were thereOn the FF side... who knows what these freaks were doing!!!.... Seriously, Marco Manna was putting together some awesome looking 20 ways!!!, loads of Track jumps, Atmonauti, head down, up, whatever, combinations of which ever....!The weather was HOT for the 1st half, then went so-so for the second (we were grounded for at least 3 half days). The food was magnifique... well, its France after all!!! FREE FROM FREAKING ENGLISH BOILED BEEF FOR A WEEK!!! YEA!!!!!!!!Remi
BenW 0 #2 August 6, 2001 So Remi, you get to go jumping in France complete with sunshine. You do oodles of jumps. You get good food. You even manage to Escape the cloud covered isle for a week. No *special* aircraft? Ahh, you poor poopsie! Sounds pretty *special* to me - any aircraft going to 14,500 for each jump is SPECIAL!! Moan, moan, moan... Sounds like you and Karen had a great time!! Wish I could have been there, but someone had to stay in the UK and jump out of a LET with Skreamer and Gus.See you at Langar sometime soon?B.
RemiAndKaren 0 #3 August 6, 2001 Arent we spoiled!!!!!!!I know I know, moan moan bitch bitch complain complain.!!!! By the way, not ALL the loads went to 14,500... (one almost got to 15k hehehe... but most were between 13k and 14.5K)... twas fun allright! And I've always said the LET was a fine plane! I spent 2 years in a Cesna 182/180 DZ that went to 9.5K...And yep, we'll see ya at Langar soon (when, it depends on the lovely weather these fine british isles have in store!).PS: Ben: did you send that stuff to Karen?
