Is anyone else a BASEBALL fan??

Recommended Posts

It's a game where nine guys stand around on a big field, most of them scratching themselves, while one guy throws a small, really hard ball, really really fast at a guy from the opposing team, who in turn, tries to hit it with a "bat" or in other terms, a big billy-club.
I have never been able to explain it properly to anyone unexposed to the game, including taxi drivers taking me to see a game, here in Chicago.

Well, since most of you weren’t here when I posted this, I’ll post it again, because it was a beautiful day today and I spent it NOT jumping and I’m bored and desperate for attention. BTW, Dirtsucks was my old nick when I was a pathetic drunk, I changed it when I became a plain old drunk. I don’t wish to insult anybody, unless you’re a whuffo, but my opinion on homo sports still stands.
-----------------------------
WELCOME TO ANOTHER EPISODE OF “DIRTSUCKS - DRUNKEN, WANNABE SKYDIVER.” THIS WEEKS TOPIC, TRADITIONAL SPORTS, AND WHAT THEY MEAN TO YOU.
I have a totally boring ass job which gives me a lot of time to think about things like skydiving, life, and idiots, not necessarily in that order. Now, at my boring ass job today, somehow the subject of sports came up in the conversation between the increasingly numerous voices in my head. Okay, in the world we live in, the most recognized, top paid individuals in this world have reached this god-like status by using their most valuable talent/asset – they can bounce, throw, or hit a ball really, really good. Anything wrong with that? That’s all. I must get back to drinking now.
Um, I guess you can either reply to this post or let it return to infernal abyss from which it came. In another hour I’ll be unconscious and wont care either way.
Your most obviously demented friend, Josh

Damn! I thought it would be something about B.A.S.E. Ball.
Perhaps someone should come up with a sport involving tossing a ball while jumping out of a building. That's a sport I would watch on TV.
Not being American I don't get Baseball, just don't get it at all, maybe there's something to it, then again, in the USA they actually televise fishing events and show Letterman's show an hour late so they can have four hours straight of live, golf tournaments.
Don't bother bashing soccer, I hardly get that either.

Ok, it is obvious that no one cares, but I will tell you anyway...
The Cardinals have won eleven in a row now and I got to see number ten from the second row behind first base. Way cool.
I had to leave a seminar given by John LeBlanc to get to the game, though....not cool!!!

Since I am a Chicago northsider, I'm definitely a Cubs fan. The NL Central is definitely the most competitive, IMO. The Cardinals and Astros are hot, and the Cubs bullpen has been disappointing lately. All the Cubs need to do is get that bullpen back on track and then look out! The offense has picked up since they acquired Fred McGriff. The Cubs can't afford to lose any games with the likes of the Cardinals and the Astros in their division. This race is going to be interesting.

Not to take anything away from the Astros, but sweeping the pirates isn't much to brag about, especially for a team like the Astros playing at home. It's how they do against tougher competition that's going to dictate where they end up.
If you go to Skydive Spaceland, look up my good friend and mentor Kris Bagwell. He just started there as DZ general manager. He's an awesome guy to get to know for advice. Tell him Hackey said hi.
