rsmetak 0 #1 October 2, 2014 So ...total noob question but I was never told so I just dont know... What is the purpose of this braided, knotted or weird looping process I've seen whenever canopies are off risers (storage/shipping etc..) Ive also seen this while people are wearing their rig. I would assume its to not make a mess of your lines but is there a name for this, and how is it done? If Im not making sense, see attachment below"I live my life 2 miles at a time. For those 60 seconds or less, Im free" ;-)

And as you assumed, it's because you don't want to make a mess of the gear. If you don't daisy chain and just stuff everything in your gearbag you will probably get a few step troughs when you try to lift it out.
