Sounds like a great offer to me!! I just wish someone made me an offer like that! You could work as a T/M or camera flyer or something like that........
Note to self: gotta get this drooling under control, or buy a bib (is that actually an english word??)
Good luck on making your mind up!

That's a crazy offer...if you are worried about not working and getting bored (even though I highly doubt that would happen), start up a little business on the side having to do with something you absolutely have a passion for and something you have always wanted to do...

Take the money and run!! You can always do something else if you get bored. SKYDIVE!!!Come pick me up and take me to skydive somewhere.
Just for everything to be tax free is a big plus since taxes eat me alive. If you have to wait the full 25 years for this offer again you may find that it isn't available when you get there. TAKE IT!!!

Hey, Spec.
Since you thought you might be wanting to retire early, and then whhooommp comes the offer, it would seem that you might get what you want. I am not sure I believe in coincidences, know what I mean?
Do what makes you happy. If working makes you happy, stay working. But find out what you'll be doing if you stay there. Get all the details, get all your information. Then base your decision on that. If retiring makes you happy, then figure out what you really want to do in your "retirement", or choose a second career.
Just do what *you* want to do. I can't help but be jealous of your situation, though. I wish I had that choice.

Dude....TRACK AND DUMP! I know how you feel. I left my job after 10 yrs. I loved the job. I lived for the job. I only got 20% when I left. It was really cool and Uncle Sugar Paid for a lot of neat stuff for me to do. The bottom line is this. Nobody will take care of you but you! I know you think...Wow I'm a highly skilled professional and it would take years to craft a replacement for me. Uncle Sugar doesn't give a flyin fuck. If you arent there they'll find some stupid 18 yr old kid to use as cannon fodder. I hope your carreer has been good to you but opportunities like this usually dont stick around too long. Besides, your opportunities in the civilian "contractor" scene would probably be excellent depending on your skill set. Life will be very different. I am only now finding out how different things are in the civi world. I sorta dont fit in. I work with computers now for a living and I laugh at people every day that get all upset at work. I just look at them, a little bewildered and say...Chill dude....it's just a computer....nobody is gonna die.
Granted, I left after I had some bad things happen and I see the world in a whole new light. I dont want to go into detail on a public board but if you want...PM me and I'll tell ya more.

Ahhhhh...Damn Secret Squirrels always keepin ya guessing. LMAO....That planes gonna burn a lot of gas. Kinda bites into the jump ticket money when you are on a fixed income. Enjoy it...retire...have fun...go to Quincy next year. King Airs make better jump planes (maybe open a DZ?). Especially if you get one like Mike Mullins'. Lower fuel and maintenance too. But with the get out of jail free (does that go for the FAA too) you dont have to stay under 250 Knts below 10,000 in the Citation. and always always always drink beer like a Viking at the end of the jump day!

I have a lifetime faa medical card now and do not have to renew type ratings ever again.

Hey, I never have to renew my type ratings, either.. Then again, nobody with a type rating on an FAA ticket ever has to renew any type rating.. Nor do they have to renew pilot certificates..

This new charter company...it wouldn't happen to need a recently graduated Aerospace Engineer, would it? How about a guy to push the drink carts down the aisle for your customers, I'm sure they get thirsty. And if the plane is ever over weight and you need to throw out extra luggage, you can throw ME instead of the passenger's stuff...always a bonus with the clients! : )
Congrats, and you are my new hero!
