hey for all of us that were there and all of you that weren't.
we had a great tim ethis weekend at deland. if i had to describe it i would have to say its like "disney for skydivers" DisnEyLAND!
i felt like a kid at a park where giant mice are expected to chase you down. ah you know what i mean. the skyvan was FUKN GREAT. the otter was fast as hell and to top it all off iut was only $10. and i met some of the coolest people on the planet(next to me ,of course)
just to say one thing; all the stories y'hear about ego's and skygod are either wrong, or they were ALL at quincy. it could be either of the two but i had a great weekend....and some interesting skydives...but ill let someone else pipe in for that. haha

Sorry I missed it. With all the "events" going on elswhere this weekend Sunday was a little slim on jumpers at Skydive Atlanta. We still put up 8 loads I think and had fun. Missed all those partying in other places.

I'll be there on Sunday. I have an all black Dolphin rig. I always jump in a black long sleeve shirt with a huge red skull on the front. Can't miss it. Do you fall fast or slow? I'm 5'10" 190 and fall like a rock. If we can get close on the fall rate we'll do some cool drill dives.

It was definitely a good time at Deland this weekend.. It was really cool meeting everybody.. Unfortunately, one person - who shall remain namless - flaked on us on Sunday.....what's up with that?! I'll be posting some pics either tonight or tomorrow from the weekend.. The airplanes rock(but the Skyvan will be down for a while getting a new engine starting sometime next week I hear), the people are cool, and the weather usually allows for AT LEAST several hours of jumping.....and all day, every day jumping most of the winter when the rest of you are freezing your ass off.. One of the best things about Deland is the fact that there are so many very experienced jumpers that are always willing to help.. The skygods are few and far between at Deland..
As for the interesting skydives....well, there will be pics.. But the FUNNEL AWARD definitely goes to JT for the weekend..
We all had a good time, no cutaways, and no injuries.. There was a collision resulting in a sore neck, but that's it.. We did some RW, some freeflying, and a few people even took advantage of Scott Miller's canopy control class.. We'll definitely have to do this again sometime next year..

I agree with you Mike, a good time was had by all. Everyone of us got in several good jumps and lots of FUNny pics. It was wonderful putting names to some faces and getting to hang around with everyone even if I did sorta crash on you Sat night.
Don't forget to give Skymama the award for the messiest jumpsuit.
PLFexpert should get the award for being the cutest as she is a doll. Hey guys, I found your skydiving model everyone was looking for about a month before. We definitely need to jump together next time.
It was great meeting you 7 and getting to jump out of a perfectly good/fast airplane with you all.
BTW Medic...I called for a medic on Sunday but there wasn't one to be found.

Joe, the skyvan is definitely cool. I actually prefer the Otter but when it comes to cool exits, the skyvan takes the lead. Did you try and flip out and hold onto the bar under the door? I've tried it once and lost my grip w/ one hand. I held on w/ only 1 hand for a couple seconds and then had to let go but it was still fun!

I don't have any idea how ya missed me....I stood there and talked to ya for a while.. We've done a 4 way hanging exit from the Skyvan before.. That was pretty damn cool.. We all held on for about 10 seconds, then turned it into a 4 way sitfly.. Too bad the camera they have by the door can't see down there....that'd be some kick ass video..

i just found out that my freefly suit arrived....(now, i just gotta see if i can freefly) with the ffsuit on my fall rate slowed considerably, when we wee doing rw.(DUH) thats the reason i got it.
i will be there saturday early., i need to get 20 jumps in 2 weekends. ive got i blue and yellow javelin
if im wearing the suit and they got it right, its blue and yellow too.(i wanted to be highly visible in freefall, in case we get lost, do ya think itll work, haha)
ill look for the red skull.

Hey, now I can finally log on and tell you all what a GREAT time I had this weekend! I think we qualify for having the dz.com world record with a 5-way. I wish we could have arranged things a little better on Saturday to get our 8-way, but maybe we can next year.

Jonathan, what a lucky girl Lisa is to have you. You were so sweet to come out and check on me when it took me awhile to come in from the field from me trying to avoid the water pits.
JT, your fingers tickle those guitar strings really well. Even though you crashed our party, I'll still jump with you anytime. I hope you'll be on-line while you are in Korea.

I was spreading myself real thin that day so I'm sure it's my fault. There were so many old friends there from Skydive Daytona and so many newer friends there that I'd met last time we jumped in Deland and so many cool new faces to meet that I didnt' know what to do w/ myself. Ha ha haI think there were the perfect amount of people there.....even though it was a $10 boogie, usually Deland has twice that many people there on just a regular weekend. Or maybe it just seems that way w/ all the teams. Either way, I've come to really love jumping there so it's probably where BZ and I will be mostly from now on.
If we decide to go on Saturday instead of Friday then we will definitely do a freefly jump together, Andrea! What all kinds of freeflying have you been working on lately? I'll be stoked to fly w/ you any way you want, although I warn you, my head down needs a bit of fine tuning since I've only tried it 3 x and only really had it going smoothly on the third jump. I was stoked as hell on that third jump though! I was sad b/c that was actually the jump that a friend of ours was going to video both me and BZ in a head down together and it would have been the perfect one to video too, but we ended up not making the load he was on and had to bump off and jump on the next one. Well, I do about 1 freefly jump to 4 RW jumps, but I can manage a sit now, with some turns. So, if you want to slow down a bit and do a sit-fly with me, that would be great! I might be able to manage going on Friday while the kids are in school though. I never thought about doing that because they just started this week, and we're getting back into the swing of things. I SHOULD clean the house, but a few dust bunnies won't hurt anything!
