Skystorm 0 #1 July 25, 2001 I'm raging f#&*ing mad!!!!!I've asked for leave on Friday, JUST FRIDAY, to have a long weekend, so I could just relax. I have been working now for 6 years straight. My longest vacation was a week long. I planned to go to the sea, sleep my ass of on Friday and skydive the whole Saturday. Keeping Sunday for the long drive home (670k).My leave was denied, why?Because there will be no-one to answer the phones when I'm gone (Althought we are 3 working in the office)!!!!!!!!AAARRRGGGHHHHHH @#^$%^%^@^%^%$^@#^&^&^&*#%^%$$@#
dove 0 #2 July 25, 2001 Better be careful. There is a HORRIBLE strain of flu that can be fatal if you don't rest up and I predict you will get it on Thursday!ElisaP.S. Let those other lazy whuffos get the phone - and if they are already on leave themselves, what the heck does your boss think voice mail is for?!?!?!?!? Cheers! Divadiver 0 #4 July 25, 2001 Skystorm:Aaaachhuuuuu!! Oh, gosh, I'm sorry, I hope I didn't get any of that on you! I'd hate for you to come down with something!!Seriously, you may want to check to see when the next available Friday off would be before you come down with something. I know at least 4 people who have been fired or laid off in the past three weeks. I'm betting right now, answering the phone is looking pretty darn good! Sorry, I hate it when our receptionist is off as well, we all get a mind numbing hour manning the phone. But, considering the alternative, I'd rather answer the phone today and jump this weekend!GOOD LUCK!!Diva
Skystorm 0 #5 July 26, 2001 I was planning on catching that dredged flu, but somehow I think my boss would not believe me.The problem is that I'm 670k's from the nearest operating DZ, and my lift is leaving on Friday morning at 3 o'clock. And there's no other way of going, since they pay me a scrappy salary on which I can't afford my own car. Skystorm 0 #7 July 26, 2001 When we call in sick, even if it is just for one day, we have to have a doctor's note. Although it's not required by the labour law, this company made it their own law.And I don't know any doctors that will give me a note, unless I was there... jfields 0 #9 July 26, 2001 Hell, I have plenty of computer toys and shitty handwriting. I'm not a doctor, but I play one on the Internet. [Best Doctor's Voice]Please describe your symptoms. Hmm. That sounds like low altitude poisoning to me.I prescribe the following remedies:Liberal doses of thinned air, say, about 15,000 feet AGL.Repeat all day until symptoms subside.Upon completion of the first step, begin repeated applications of internal ethyl alcohol.Repeat entire course of treatment every 24 hours until immune to low-altitude poisoning or broke.[/Best Doctor's Voice]JustinMember of the Whuffo Conversion Team

dove 0 #11 July 26, 2001 Sounds like you need to convert more local whuffos into skydivers so you have more rides to choose from!

ClayFowler 0 #13 July 26, 2001 Yes Skymama, Step right into my examining room. Yes those are red lights. Helps my vision. Please put on this garter belt and 5 in heels and the Dr will be right with you. Go ahead and have a glass of Corvossier, lay back on the water bed, and relax. Please plan for the exam to take at least 3 hours. I'm sure I will have lot's of work to do.

ClayFowler 0 #15 July 26, 2001 I'll make sure and give you plenty of convalescent leave to recover. It may take several days to catch your breath.
hughbetcha 0 #16 July 26, 2001 hello skystormso i kind know what you're feeling this weekend, i was driving to skydive new england in maine from montreal where i live and as i was about to cross the border into america some mindless vermont woman crossed over two lanes of traffic trying to exit last minute and totalled my car. i was even going to pickup and jump my rig for the first time but i ended having to hitch hike back home (200 kms) and no jumping for me this weekend!
freaksister 0 #17 July 26, 2001 My God, Hughbetcha, that is an *awful* story! You had to hitch-hike home? Damn...is your insurance going to "total" the car and hook you up with at least a little dough for a new ride? Hope you get to jump that new rig soon...glad you weren't hurt in the accident.Sis "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it." Skystorm 0 #18 July 27, 2001 Man, I hope you're not hurt! And I thought I had it bad. I can't even look forward to jumping my own rig, not to mention a NEW one, for I don't have my own rig, YET!!!! Sorry to hear about the accident. I would've offered to keep you company over the weekend, but I don't have a PC at home. And maybe, just maybe, I could still hitch a ride to Swakopmund. At this very moment my boyfriend is pulling into Swakop (he left at 2 o'clock this morning) and he's terrorising me with reports of blue skies and fine weather. And I'm sitting in my office, waiting for the phone to begin ringing...I still can't believe I won't be able to jump this weekend. I so looked forward to doing my 180's and 360's.Dr. Fowler, Dr. Fowler, calling Dr. Fowler....I need a prescription, for low altitude poisoning, I tend to get seasick on waterbeds.... hughbetcha 0 #19 July 27, 2001 thank you for the concern and thankfully i had a pretty low speed collision but because the other woman had a 4*4 truck my car was to low for the bumper to help and thats why it got so damaged. now it is really just a waiting game for the insurance to figure it out. and even though the my new rig is new to me it would really fall into the 'almost new' really the used category. and now with all this to worry about i can't even afford the long distance call to your boss to beg for your freedom even though i realize it is to late for this weekend!blues skies soon!mark
ClayFowler 0 #20 July 27, 2001 Skystorm: Yes Ma'am, I'll get that prescription right away. Dont worry, my waterbed is waveless. If it wasnt you would have to wear a helmet to bed! Well....maybe you should wear anyway. Dont want you receiving any injuries from the headboard.....LOL
RemiAndKaren 0 #21 July 27, 2001 Wow Mark.. just saw the post... really sorry to hear about the trip/car... at least you're not broken and can keep jumping once you get the shit sorted....Remi
