Not much I'm tryin to learn

Recommended Posts

Umm hey everybody.
Im not sure how to jump in this message board really since I just kinda started getting into this sport. But one thing I noticed is that a lot of people are referring to AFF.. Is this the same thing as PFF? I am in Canada and I'm not sure how things relate to the US ways over here.
Anyways I'm really loving it so far. I'm guessing beer has quite a bit to do with the typical skydivers lifestyle? Well I'm down with that.
But I must scram.

Yo Ninja! Welcome to our cult. Beer is a huge part of the skydiving lifestyle...among other things! LOL
I think I remember the Canadians on here saying PFF was similar to AFF. I didn't do AFF so I wouldn't really know. The whole world trains jumpers differently, but *similar*. Talk about an oxymoron. Different but similar. DUH! Anyway, you jumped on in just fine. Don't flame anyone right away and we'll keep you around. :)Sis

Hi Ninja.
PFF is the Canadian program. It starts with 3 or 4 IADs form low (3,500), then you go to 12,500 (or 9,500 depending where and wht type of plane you have) and do a couple or 2 on 1 jumps, then 1/1s, then solos... etc.. except for the start, its pretty much like AFF
AFF is the US program. Your 1st jump will be from 12,500 with a 2 on 1 (no IADs, or Static Lines required).
There's a new program in the US (dont know the accronym) that is based on AFF but starts with one or two Tandems. I think this program is also offered in at least 1 DZ in Canada.

Hey yeah I actually started taking my PFF already.. Which is kinda weird I only had one IAD before I started my level one. I just finished that and on saturday I'll be doing my level 2.. Probably 3 also and maybe 4. If I happen to pass them I guess.
Once I get into it and have a few jumps under my belt I really want to travel and try diving other places in the world... Man. This is the coolest sport I've ever been into. By far. Especially the beer part. That's so rad. haha
