If this guy is as bad as you say I don't think I'd feel comfortable skydiving there regularly. If the DZO doesn't care enough to ground a dangerous instructor then he may not care about airplane servicing, having a good pilot, keeping rental gear safe, etc...

I agree 100%. I did notice the DZO having a long "chat" with him the evening of the reserve ride. There is already a plan to phase him out of doing tandems as soon as one of our guys gets his tandem rating; we'll have two tandem flyers. As for the airplane......Just kidding, high timed, but well taken care of.
