Dutchboy 0 #4 June 4, 2001 It's true. You can not legally charge somebody to skydive in the US. You can charge them for the plane ride, instruction, and equipment rental. The Dutchboyhttp://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
PalmettoTiger 1 #5 June 4, 2001 Quoteit is free it is the plane ride up that costs, If you think about it every plane ride is cheap, whether you're going to 12,500 and then out the door or from New York to Tokyo. It's just that the airlines charge you extra to do the landing themselves.Blues, squares,PTiger*insert witty sig here*

Do you know where that's published, or what agencies and sets of regulations I should search to find it?Blues, squares,PTiger*insert witty sig here*
Grogs 0 #7 June 4, 2001 Quoteit is free it is the plane ride up that costs, if you dont like paying base jumpHehe. This is true. We had a guy once who went through the first jump course, got all the training, went up in the airplane, and then refused to jump. When he got down, he demanded his money back since he hadn't actually done the skydive and the DZO explained to him that the skydive was free, but his $279 had paid for the classroom instruction, plane ride, instructors, etc. The guy got pissed off, demanding that there had to be something that could be refunded, so they gave him $5 since the rig didn't have to be repacked and sent him on his way. You can't charge somebody to fly through airspace. The Dutchboyhttp://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
 Dutchboy 0 #9 June 4, 2001 Sounds like what my whyffo did, except for trying to get a refund. I knew that her not jumping only saved them about $15 for repacking, but she probably cost them that much in extra gas taking the Otter down at a more calm rate than normal. The Dutchboyhttp://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
 mouth 0 #10 June 4, 2001 Haven't you all heard that skydiving costs you $150 for the first jump and half your paycheck for the rest of your life??!! Unfortunately I often find I spend more than I make jumping and buying new stuff. Man I like new stuff!Monk, don't worry about affording a girl friend. Any male will tell you no matter who much money you have you can never "really afford" a girl so just go find you one you like and enjoy.
