I CANT TAKE IT!!!! this Victoria Falls features bungee jumping. the guy on tv keeps refering to them bungee jumpers as 'freefallers' and that they love the 'freefall'. no! its not freefall, at least not to me! then this guy goes "why would you jump off of a perfectly good bridge?" ahhh. sounds like skydiving....

i have never been to vic falls but i did a bungee jump run by the same company at a place called the blookrans river along the garden route in south africa, it's a 260m drop and i tell you something it certainly gets the heart pumping, and they don't lower you into a boat but they send someone down by harness lash you on and heave you back up again, i was watching a few of the videos they took of the vic falls jump and a couple of guys did it while attached to an inflatable raft tottaly awsome, if you ever get a chance go there also get some class 5 rapids in as well.
thats in my opinion

SCREW bungee jumping. What, 2 seconds of freefall, and then no time to play under canopy? Hey, broken rubber might have brought me IN to the world, but it sure as hell isn't going to take me out!!!

Right now Zimbabwe is not really a safe tourist destination. At the moment South Africa is still fairly safe, if you use common sense and be careful about where you go (and what time of day/night). Actually being a tourist to Southern Africa is not too different from skydiving - you pay your money and you take your chances. That said it is really beautiful and I miss the place (and my family and friends), but it is going down the toilet rather quickly.

Fun thing is, there are a few insurance agencies (here in holland) that insure skydiving for only a few bucks a day. But there isn't a SINGLE one that insures bungy jumping (here in Holland that is, I checked)
When I asked why they told me that Bungy-jumping IS concidered a high-risk sport and skydiving (funny anough) is not 'that high' a risk factor.
I was told that skydiving certainly sounds dangerous to a lot of people, but insurance agencies base their insurances on FACTS and FIGURES, and those figurs show that skydiving is not THAT high a risk that they wouldn't dare including it in a holliday-insurance.
Bungee-Jumping is supposed to have A LOT of accidents worldwide (how many more then skydiving?? I wonder??) which makes the agencies just say "NO"
I do know there are quite a few people just 'starting' small bungee-companies themselves, which is probably what makes it so dangerous..
I did do a Bungee-jump once (only the other way around, catapulted up into the air, sitting in a metal sphere) which was kinda fun, but I'd still rather go skydiving if I had to choose..

i made 3 bungy jumps in las vegas last two times i was there, it can be alot of fun., getting your own equipment, and finding new places to jump is alot like it would be for skydiving or b.a.s.e. jumping. it's alot like our sport in it's own way.....i still much prefer skydiving. now i hear they have a 1,000 foot helo bungy near munich and maybe i could wear my rig, and then get myself out of the harness an mak a h n' p. the ground rush from a bungy jump scared th hell outa me but it was also a good adreniline fix seeing the ground come up at ya.....fast......hope i never see that skydiving (unless i'm flying that new 70sq.ft. canopy!!!!)

Has any one done one of those giant swings?

Yeah, I tried one at six flags in San Antonio. It was before I started skydiving, and at that time, it was a kick ass ride. It was cool that the harness held two or three people at a time, made it interesting. I rode it with my younger half brother, who insisted on pulling the rip cord. The little f*ck did not even have the testicular fortitude to give me a freakin count, just pulled the cord, freaked me out, but it was a blast anyway. They were pretty busy, and it was kinda cool watching them load three little prepubessant wuffos into that thing, and then hear the screams when the rip cord was pulled, sounded like they were boiling kids in oil over there!!! lol

I did the one here in Houston. It was my first foray into falling off something higher than a ladder. Lots 'o fun.
As far as jumping off a perfectly good bridge goes, I've done the bungie thing. Next time I jump off a fixed structure, it's gonna be with a rig on my back. :o

Hello, Wakey wakey, The Nile river begins in Malawi, which is rather along way from the Vic Falls. The vic falls forms part of the Zambezi river and ends in Mozambique.
