mountainman 0 #1 April 18, 2001 My wife and I are going to do AFF or tandem progression this summer and cannot decide which place would be the best. It is pretty much between these two places, but cannot decide. If anyone has any info on either or any suggestions, please let me know! It would be AFF at Richmond or tandem progression at Cleveland (since we already have one tandem). Anyway, all help is appreciated!! wingnut 0 #4 April 18, 2001 mm,have you looked into aerohio? they're over near wooster, but they are a fantastic dz. they have a few turbines and are getting another shortly. look into them if ya want, i've jumped there before and they are top notch.<>
flyboy62000 0 #5 April 18, 2001 Didn't you do your first jumps at Greene County? Did you look into doing the rest of the tandem progression there. I agree with wingnut about aerohio. If you want to make the drive it is a top notch place for training. I can't comment on Richmond or Cleveland as I have never been there. I hope you find a DZ that suits your needs. Greensburg is also fairly close. Cacophony had the details on there as it is his home DZ. Have fun with your jumps.Blue Skies,Adam
cameramonkey 0 #6 May 3, 2001 Richmond hands down... best instructors, friendliest people (no "skygods" there that I know of),and now one of the ONLY sport parasims in the country used for student training. For those of you that dont know, the Parasim is a Virtual Reality canopy training simulator. Too cool.Ok, ok, so I might be a little biased since its my home DZ, but I drive past other DZ's to get there... does that say anything for it?
jaybird 0 #7 May 4, 2001 richmond hands down. there are 4 dropzones closer to my home, however, i drive to richmond every weekend because i am more comfortable with the instructors, the planes, and the safety. we have both tandem and aff, as well as static line. as cameramonkey said, we also have one of 2 parasim (virtual reality canopy training) in the country used my dropzones. it is also one of the largest areas to land in. check the web site or call if you have any more questions. mountainman 0 #8 May 4, 2001 Hey guys...well...maybe we will go there. We actually went there a few weeks ago and Jaime and her father were VERY nice. I also met her bro, John I believe (packer), and we all played around with the parasim for awhile. On my 2nd "canopy ride" ever I landed at 3mph with 1.4fps vertical. I did pretty good. And I had the city landing lined up twice but scraped the building BARELY!! Anyway, those people are GREAT!! Like I said, I'll be there on Saturday, so if you get there sometime, look for me. I have pics of me on my webpage and I'll be wearing a shirt that has this logo on the front and back:http://www.totalbodypilot.com/images/tbplogo.gifHope to meet some people here so I can feel more at home!! Thanks a million!!PINK skys...esp on Saturday...NEW AND IMPROVED!!!http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/
