mark 107 #4 January 14, 2015 Type-1 webbing (PIA-W-4088), or tape (PIA-T-5038)? If 4088, then 9/16" 500# is much more common. Is there a reason why you need the extra width and strength? If 4088 9/16" is ok, let me know what color, how many yards/meters, and where to send it. Mark
Quagmirian 40 #5 January 14, 2015 Type 1a webbing (falls under w-4088 or w-27265 when treated) but is more likely to be called a tape. It is like a wide type 1 tape.
gowlerk 2,216 #6 January 14, 2015 I don't see a source for less than full rolls either. But for those wondering just what it is, here is a great reference page for w-4088 spec webbing. http://www.ballyribbon.com/products/core-products/mil-spec-pia-spec/mil-w-4088Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. riggerrob 643 #7 January 14, 2015 Let's be really clear on terminology. Normally the dividing line between tapes and webbing is 1 inch wide and 1,000 pound tensile strength. The only MIL SPEC/PIA SPEC webbing less than 1 inch wide is Type 1 webbing, most commonly used for reserve line attachments. Type 3 tape is the most popular for main line attachment tapes. Type 3 tape is available in variety of widths and 3/4 inch wide Type 3 tape is the most popular size for binding containers.
