Slowfaller 0 #6 March 13, 2001 sis,Even though its the only dz ive been to, i cant say ive had a bad experience there. the jm's are awesome, its on like 230 acres w/ a stocked fishing/swimming pond and its right on the fox river. freaksister 0 #7 March 13, 2001 hhahahaha! wanna get fired huh? lol, sometimes i think the same thing...i am also a weekend warrior! i get off work on friday nights at midnight (so its really saturday a.m.) and i drive all night (six hours) to get to the dz...sleep four or five hours, get up and pray for good weather...so far that hasn't happened to me very often. i usually drive all night to find it frickin' raining! when the forecast called for sun! grumble grumble goes sis...my friends and family have all decided i am even crazier than they thought i was! hahaha...i went two months without jumping, and after i jumped again, i have been back every single weekend since then (7 weekends in a row) but usually the weather is bad...i swear i have a weather curse! argh! grumble grumble again...anyway...they (the family) just looks at me now and says, with resignation, "so...i take it you're going to the dropzone again this weekend?" "as long as you can afford it, then just go ahead" "don't you think you need to stay home and take care of things at the house?" froggie 0 #10 March 14, 2001 hey chris. welcome to dz.com. its a great place. people are always up for talk, whether it be about skydiving, work, or discussing nakie baby pics (lol). we get a bit crazy at times, but im sure youre use to that. I think that there are other skydive chicago folks posting here, why not create a thread called hello skydive chicago friends or somethign? that mgiht get you in touch wiht some of the regulars there. You might even already know some of them. well, anyhoo, welcome. I would go crazy here at work if I did not have dropzone.com to break up the day!!I am Greg, I am 30 or 31 (I actually stopped counting at 21), I work as an electrical engineer and control systems estimator for a material handling company in Phoenix, AZ. My home DZ (where I did AFF) is Skydive Arizona at Eloy, but I like to jump at Coolidge (Mike Mullins King Air ROCKS!!) and Buckeye (you gotta jump a Cesna at some point!) too. All are just about an hour from my house which is great. I also have Marana nearby also, I love it here, the best jumping weather anywhere, at least at this time of year and more than enough great DZ's close by!!.As for the BEER, I love it, I think I have had enough to float a battleship by now. Hopefully i finish my AFP course this weekend ( 6 more jumps!! ) and i took monday and tuesday off of work to skydive. Since skydive chicago is only open wed-sun im gonna do some fun jumps at Skydive Illinois.
