palejo 0 #1 February 17, 2015 This rig in the Classifieds seems suspicious: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/page.cgi?g=Detailed%2FContainers%2FBrand_New_Fully_Loaded_V310_Micron_Zero_Jumps__169366.html;d=1 I emailed the seller asking for info on the rig and he refuses to send serial number. The post does not include Serial Number. The user is registered since 2011 but who knows. Just be aware. See attachment for the seller reply to my inquire. I already reported it that it might be a scam.Alejandro B27585
tred 0 #2 February 17, 2015 I know nothing about this rig, but is it possible he will actually sell it to you. but the reason for no serial number is it maybe stolen. this is not an accusation just a heads up to any one
TomWatson 0 #3 February 17, 2015 tredthe reason for no serial number is it maybe stolen. Hmm. I can't think of any other reason why a legitimate seller would withhold a serial number from a potential buyer...
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #4 February 17, 2015 Registered since 2011, but no posts and an empty profile. Also a "too good to be true" price. I don't know if it's a scam or not. But I'd be suspicious. And I'd be damned sure to protect myself if I went after it. Escrow through a trusted 3rd party for sure. If he wasn't willing to do that, then I'd walk."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." JayFitz164 0 #5 February 18, 2015 I responded to the ad in December and did not get a reply. The seller contacted me last week to say that the previous buyer he had been dealing with had fallen through and to see if I still had any interest. The email was not pushy and he detailed size and that he was original owner. I don't have a dog in this fight but in my opinion if he were a scammer mining this site for cash he would've responded to any/all that were interested back in December. The seller did the same thing with me, he replied to say the previous buyer had fallen through and if I was still interested. He probably responded to everyone but people walked away because he is not sharing serial number. That is a big red flagAlejandro B27585
JayFitz164 0 #7 February 18, 2015 I do not disagree that not sharing the serial number is a major red flag. Was just saying that most scammers cast a wide net and work quickly. This guy does not fit that profile.
palejo 0 #8 March 2, 2015 Scam continues, now with price even lower. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/page.cgi?g=Detailed%2FContainers%2FFully_Loaded_V310_Micron_Zero_Jumps__171854.html;d=1Alejandro B27585
