JerryBaumchen 1,364 #51 March 24, 2015 Hi Jim, Quote Is the TSO standard intended to be a standard to which the product will perform when NEW such that it will still perform at an acceptable level over its life, Just to keep things going ( ) and to offer my thoughts as a mfr. It is just like when you, as a licensed rigger, do an I & R: when it leaves your possession, you no longer have any control over it. The mfr also has no control over the product that he/she builds once it goes out the door. Jerry Baumchen
skytribe 17 #52 March 24, 2015 Well the manufacturer does have a degree of control if they have them back for recertification and if deemed unairworthy remove the TSO label. At that point isn't the canopy considered non-certified without the label on ? Even though we may know what it is - the certification requires appropriate markings. Looking at the symposium seminars it looks like PD is doing on recertification so perhaps someone can get definitive answers on what PD do and the limits they establish and while there at it they may as well find out what aerodyne's answer is as well as they want equipment back periodically as well.
