hackish 8 #1 August 14, 2015 I've tried purchasing the cotton elastic material from paragear. I have not been satisfied with the durability of the material. The elastic webbing keepers on the tandem harnesses had to be replaced every second week to keep it in good shape. I also tried purchasing ready-made units with even less success. They were frankly garbage and many fell apart in a single day of jumping. What material should be used for these and where do you get it? I'm told I need nylon elastic, not cotton. Any ideas? -Michael
dpreguy 14 #2 August 14, 2015 I agree. I'd also be interested in a more stretchy elastic that would last longer.

skytribe 17 #4 August 14, 2015 I fnd that elastic bands damage the edge of harness web much more than correct elastic keepers
chuckakers 426 #5 August 15, 2015 peter.draperI tend to pull them off an use good quality rubber bands...... I used to wonder why my chest strap fuzzed up prematurely until I was educated that my rubber band retainer was causing it. I switched to elastic keepers and the problem was solved.Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX
hackish 8 #7 August 17, 2015 I'll second that. We had to bring in a whip to flog anyone caught putting rubber bands on. We had to replace a piece of webbing because of this. -Michael

DougH 270 #9 August 18, 2015 Rubber bands are a pain in the ass versus keepers when it comes to adjusting tandem harnesses, or instructor harnesses on a tandem rig. They catch webbing and make adjustment more of a pain versus keepers that slide and aren't grabby."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
