I HAVE ALSO HAD TO GROW 9CM OF NEW BONE USING A FRAME. MY LEG IS FINE NOW ITS JUST MY ANKLE. THE ONLE THING IM WORRIED ABOUT IS HOW HARD YOU LAND?? DO YOU COME IN VERY FAST? I CAN JOG FOR LITTLE PERIODS, DO YOU THINK I WILL BE ABLE TO DO SKYDIVING?? I CAN TAKE A LOT OF IMPACT THROUGH THE ANKLE ( I HAVE BEEN PRACTICING JUMPING OFF STAIRS) I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE ARE LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH INJURYS DO SKYDIVING? mx757 4 #2 February 6, 2005 well on a big student canopy like a Manta or something with a light wingloading like under 1:1 maybe 075:1 or so you should come in slow and softly every time.
TomAiello 26 #3 February 7, 2005 You might want to turn your caps lock off... I've got limited flexibility (probably not so bad as yours, but I'm not sure) in my right ankle (I've got around 13 screws, due to a BASE accident). It doesn't really create any problems for me. As was said above, if you're using big student gear, landings can be very slow--about as hard as stepping down off a chair, perhaps. If you can jog (I can't), I'd say you'll have no problems with skydiving.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
flyangel2 2 #4 February 7, 2005 I'd also like to add to make sure you have a big enough reserve, since you won't always be landing under your main.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
ashworthy2k 0 #5 February 9, 2005 Hi, Do you mean jumping of a chair, or do you mean slowly stepping off? don't you have to jog a little when you land then?
mx757 4 #6 February 9, 2005 not with with docile accuracy parachute. like Manta or something.. you'd land so slow softly...get the right parachute and you'll be fine.. you won't win any swooping contest's however...
TomAiello 26 #7 February 11, 2005 QuoteDo you mean jumping of a chair, or do you mean slowly stepping off? don't you have to jog a little when you land then? It depends on the canopy. If you have some wind to land into, and a big canopy, you can pretty much just step down when you land.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
