tmontana 0 #3 July 21, 2004 it was kind of funny, but really all it did was remind me of how much of an idiot bush was when he said this (war on terror) is a "CRUSADE". Moron! tmontana 0 #10 July 23, 2004 hmm.. let's see what happens when we bold the FIRST part. PhillyKev 0 #11 July 23, 2004 To keep it in simple terms but be a little more realistic. The cruseades were a series of military expeditions where Christians killed Muslims so they could capture trade routes and secure access to rare spices and other materials. They used belief in a slightly different invisible man as justification because you're always right when god is on your side.

tmontana 0 #15 July 23, 2004 My point is he was a moron for using that word (Crusades) when most in the Arab world believe the Christian U.S is trying to destroy Moslems. If you are going to take the time and go around to speak at mosques and say this isn't a war against Islam, as he did, then take the time to pick a better word to use in your remarks.___________________________________________ "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin

However, like many other issues you get a whiny liberal to keep repeating the Crusades and oh how terrible was that and eventually people will have forgotten what it really means and just associate it as something negative. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. If you are going to take the time and go around to speak at mosques and say this isn't a war against Islam, as he did, then take the time to pick a better word to use in your remarks. I'll grant you that he used the correct word at an extremely undiplomatic moment (taken out of context.) He did say ..."crusade against terrorists..." not Muslims. Does that make him a moron? I don't think so. What damage did it do to our relationship with Arab nations? Little to none...but who cares anyway? A moron got us in to Vietnam. A moron took us off the gold standard. A moron got caught with his pee-pee in an interns mouth at the oval office. A moron drove his car of a bridge in MA with a nurse in the passenger seat, got his own ass out of the water and did nothing to save her. A moron didn't approve Bradley fighting vehicles in Somolia, resulting in the deaths of 15 of my breatheren. A moron used his posistion as the former head of the NSA to pilfer SCI (code word) documents from the national archives (and then admitted it.) Another moron hired this guy for his campaign. That moron fought in Vietnam, came home and demonstrated against it (directly resulting in the deaths of US military) and is now running for president. I guess it's a free country and you can call whomever you like a moron. But at least have some sense of the word...I mean just because the guy doesn't speak well on the fly, and has a Texas accent, he does have a Harvard MBA (no easy chore.)
