PhillyKev 0 #4 July 21, 2004 Brief history of partisanism (did I make up a new word?) post 9/11. Liberals: We should concentrate our efforts in Afghanistan. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 Conservatives: Iraq has a direct link to AQ. You're just anti-bush. No AQ link ---------------------- Liberals: Hussein is contained by UN inspections, if there's anything to be found the inspectors will find it eventually, there's no reason to invade. Conservatives: He has WMD and is an imminent threat to the safety of our country. No WMD ------------------ Liberals: Now that we've rung the bell and invaded Iraq we need an exit strategy that makes sense, is honest in it's predicted expenditures and gets out troops out of harm's way. Conservatives: We need to rebuild Iraq from the ground up and create a democracy in the middle east. That's more important than costs and Halliburton is the only company that can provide the infrastructure support for that. Halliborun is given the contracts without any bidding process, label their expenses as miscellaneous and have no accountability for staying within budget projections. ------------- Liberals: Bush is asking for $87 billion for Iraq, but it's going to cost a lot more than that. Why doesn't he ask for what he really needs and be honest with the public instead of trying to hide the true costs and delay additional funding until after the election. Conservatives: You're just a Bush hater, he has brought integrity and honesty to the white house. See article above.

Get your facts straight, you traitorous pinko commie liberal (personal attack avoided). The $87B is supplemental. The total cost will be around $300B.... mikkey 0 #8 July 22, 2004 Is the money spend in this war counted in the GDP (I would assume so?) - that would explain why the US GDP growth has been strong the last year.--------------------------------------------------------- When people look like ants - pull.
