CanuckInUSA 0 #5 July 28, 2004 QuoteThough I guess I already knew that I don't have much in common with my neighbors. Weren't you the girl who not long ago duplicated yourself all over your lawn and showed us a picture of it? Why can't you just extend that replication into your entire neighborhood? Then you'd be surrounded by like-minded people. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
Shotgun 1 #6 July 28, 2004 QuoteSo people aren't giving to the candidates you want? Right... Most of my neighbors have contributed directly to George W. Funny though, I just looked up my old Texas zipcode (where I am feeling quite homesick for - I'm living in CA right now), and most of those people have donated to Democrats. For the record, I don't consider myself either Democrat or Republican. I just don't support George W., but now I know that I'm surrounded by people who do! Shotgun 1 #15 July 28, 2004 QuoteI tell you ... just keep replicating yourself and sooner or later you'll love your neighborhood. Or will you? See, the problem there is that I am just a teensy bit schizophrenic... Ok, well maybe more than just a teensy bit.... So I don't think I really want all my different personalities living around me at once. Some of them are quite annoying, so they're easier to deal with just one at a time. And now that you've put it in that perspective, my current neighbors don't seem so bad after all.
Muenkel 0 #16 July 29, 2004 Well since I live in one of the bastions of liberalism; Taxachusetts; I have a pretty good idea who my neighbors are voting for. Interesting side note: It is common knowledge that New Englanders are primarily Democrats with the exception maybe of New Hampshire. I read an article a couple years back (sorry, I do not have a link). Anyway, it indicated that despite the fact that most of the New England states were in the top 10 of income per capita, they were the cheapest when it came to donating some of their income. Interesting since the Democratic Party is all for the poor. _________________________________________ Chris

Muenkel 0 #19 July 30, 2004 Actually it is true that most of the Governors or the New England states are Republican. A lot of them came in to office during the Republican sweep in '02. But trust me, all of New England (except maybe New Hampshire) will go to Kerry this November. _________________________________________ Chris

newsstand 0 #22 July 31, 2004 Did anyone else do a search on their own last name? This is wierd. A huge majority of McKee's who are making contributions are making them to Democrats. I am sure my parents won't approve but I find that weird. I would have expected a 50/50 split. "Truth is tough.
