Phillbo 11 #1 January 18, 2007 I've been out of the sport for about 18 months and plan to get back in the sky this spring. What can I expect to have to accomplish in order to be cleared to jump again. Is there a set dive flow that will be followed or is it pretty much up to the coach that gives me the check dive? I've purchased 5 minutes in the tunnel and plan to start there . Thoughts, suggestions? Thanks.

Phillbo 11 #3 January 19, 2007 So, it does not sound like anything I did not expect... Get out and prove I can still do it I'll be at Eloy so I'm sure the coach will be top notch.
DougH 270 #4 January 19, 2007 Is a coach rating the same as an instructional rating holder? I am just curious for my own knowledge, I thought check dives, and recurrency by the book had to be done by AFFI or other rating holder? Good luck getting back into the sport."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
brianfry713 0 #5 January 19, 2007 As I understand it now after reviewing the SIM, a USPA Coach can only do recurrency jumps with licensed skydivers. A student recurrency jump, A license check dive, and A license oral quiz must be made with a USPA Instructor. A USPA Coach is a instructional rating holder and therefore is included whenever referenced in the SIM. Any time they say USPA instructor, they mean USPA AFFI, TI, or (SL/IAD)I, and that doesn't include a USPA Coach.
