Why do you think europe ........

Recommended Posts

Quote

What do you feel about europeans in general, is so against Bush, and his foreign politics?

Why do you think they are?

Does it matter at all?

Just wondering!

Europe has a history of appeasing dictators and murderers and the U.S. has a history of going to bat for those appeasers when theire asses are against the wall, thanklessly ridding them of the dictators. When a U.S. president does this, he makes the powermongers of European politics look like a bunch of pansy cowards, and so they hate him and criticize him viciously and endlessly in order to deflect attention from their own pathetic failings.

At least, that's how it seems to me.

Circa American Revolutionary wars, to be more specific.

Well, in the War for Independence, one of the countries of which we speak -- England -- was the actual dictator! I'd say that kinda cancels out France's assistance. Besides, France's turning its back on us despite our help through TWO MORE WORLD WARS does a hell of a lot to counter the aid they've rendered in the past.

1914/1915/1916/1939/1940/(most of) 1941...
I guess what (did not happen in) 2003 makes up for it... short term memory selective memory does wonders...
Wanna call it even?

I think that in those years you cited, it was the U.S. saving the ass of the French, n'est ce pas? Just what are you talking about?

You don't know much about history do you? Did you even bother to take notice of the years that Frenchy quoted and the reasons why they were brought up before you clicked that send button? You should have payed attention to that grade seven history lesson they taught in school. Cause if you did, you would have known better not to make that comment you just made.

How's that toe jam taste? As you just got caught with your foot in your mouth big time, and there's nothing you can say to get you out of this one. :P

Nope, its because he and many like him are ignorant fuckwits.

So let's hurry and replace him with Kerry so we can mitigate the ignorant fuckwittedness with mendacity and two-facedness.

Kerry/Bush, whatever...I don't think US foreign policy or environmental performance will change, and thats about as far as my interest goes.
I'm actually beginning to reckon that Bush might be the better option, at least we know his shortcomings, and its a case of better the devil you know.
But it just doesn't feel right.:S

Only half the voters here were for him, why would it be any different outside of the US?

There are lots of reasons - some reasonably, some petty, some from the same pursuits of capitalism.
The French in particular would like to think they matter more than they actually do on the world scene. The 19th Century is over!

Does it matter? It would be preferable to have good relations, but the truth is that for a lot of people the US can never do right and unless they are benefitting from it, the use of force is never appropriate.

Unfortunately we have a rather strong socialist media influence here in europe.
They always criticise the USA.

I'm happy I live in Holland and my government decided to support the USA.

Most people don't remember it is only 60years ago holland has been liberated by UK/US/Canada/australia.

Please vote BUSH. KERRY will bring you guys much of the tax-increasing socialistic shit.
Those socialists (in fact they are communists) forget one thing: To give one person money, you have to steal it from another person.

That's so right!
That's what so many people around me slowly use to say.

And that's why the US is called a "leading world power"?? [:/] The mighty "leader" just is interchangeable but, nothing's changed?
Weird. :(

Not a great choice you guys are foisting on the world is it...

Good point.

Where are the good choices and why haven't we elected/supported them into the running? [:/]

With Bush/Cheney, we know we're fucked for 4 more years.
With Kerry/Edwards, we at least stand a chance.

But most of all, we demonstrate the American public's right and power to get rid of bad/greedy/careless politicians.

Maybe if we did that more often, our choices would be of better quality...

Ha....haha...BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm guessing that you don't know much about Kerry if you're saying this re: "getting rid of Bush."

With B/C we have a good idea of how we'll be fucked for the next 4 years...
With K/E... we know we'll be fucked, just don't know how yet...

Good choices don't run because of how invasive the process is... why would someone leading a successful private life want to subject themselves to the reckless and irresponsible media sharks and the national committees of both major parties?

Honestly I too see europeans as appeasers. Smaller and more reliant on eachother. I feel that europeans have a lot of angst toward eachother as well, however, disliking the USA brings the europeans together.

Quote

Why do you think they are?

First off all European nations are closer to socialism than Capitalism and I think that is a major sticking point on both sides. We americans left Europe in the first place to try something new. I think there is a bit of jealousy involved toward the USA. Mainly because in a Capitalistic society you can have more power, more money and less Governmental influence than in a socialistic one. I think in a socialistic society everyone tends to be on a closer level (in general). There is a move in this country in the far left to transform this country into a more European nation (GOD I HOPE THAT NEVER HAPPENS).

Quote

Does it matter at all?

To me it doesn't matter. We should not run this country and worry too much about how our neighbors across the pond feel. We as a nation are tring to better ourselves, and european input is not nessasarily in our best interest.

Sorry for the spelling[:/]

You mean dictators like Saddam Husein or murderers like Osama Bin Laden?

Weird, because the US of A has a history to appease those dictators and murderers when it is convenient. (Till it backfires)

Just a question, do you really believe what you post, or even think about it. It is very easy to prove you wrong over and over again.
