tunaplanet 0 #26 September 21, 2004 QuoteDo your arms ever get tired from holding up that mirror?? Throughout my years I've learned that when cornered with tough questions people often use "mirroring" and "reverse spotlight" techniques to divert the attention off of the matter at hands. This is grossly obvious in Speaker's Corner. Don't believe me? Ask a liberal on these forums a tough, direct, to-the-point question about Kerry and I guarantee you you'll see the words, "Bush" or "Republican/Conservative" in the reply. Zenister 0 #27 September 21, 2004 a ridiculous proposition, it is impossible to weigh the possible benefits and qualities of one political opponent without comparing him to the other.. you might as well ask "what you like about day time" and complain when it is contrasted against the night... of course logical, reasoned debate seems to escape a great many here... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. But the majority of the time we're not discussing benefits and qualities. A lot of the time we're asking questions like, "Do you think Kerry lied about his purple hearts" and the most popular response will be something along the lines of, "BUT BUSH LIED TO US ABOUT WMD's, blah blah blah". Liberals cannot handle the tough questions about their candidate without whipping out the mirror and spotlight. I tested the liberals in a thread once to see if they could do it. I even told them this was a test to see if they could do it. Sure enough, no one could answer questions without reversing it. It's very sad. Funny how often the conservatives deflect Bush's lying by bringing up the subject of Bill Clinton. Since you live in a glass house it's surprising that you throw stones.... wmw999 2,456 #30 September 22, 2004 Oh, but I did answer your questions. You just didn't like the answers. And, if I remember, you don't read my posts. Not my fault, but it does mean that you're wrong about that. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. freakyrat 1 #31 September 22, 2004 I got the same guy at ONT last year and all he did was do the wipedown of my gearbag and then hand it to me after it passed inspection. Incidently at Provincetown, MA yesterday they had (get this) No less than 6 screeners for Cape Air Flights to BOS which are operated by 8-passenger C402 aircraft. They did the wipe test on all checked bags as required but they open them and do all the pockets etc. Gotta love it, each passenger gets his or her own personal screener. Incidently, when I was flying back to BOS from Provincetown yesterday morning the TSA had some 6 screeners for flight operated by Cape Air in 8 passenger C402 aircraft. Each passenger darn near had their own personal screener. They do a thorough wipedown of all checked bags etc. Chris
