I'll give anyone $10,000 to reach over and bitch-slap Ann Richards. Is there a more bitter, annoying, fugly human on the planet?

I feel Bush led and won this debate.......

I disagree. I think if you had to pick a "winner" Kerry would be your man this evening. Kerry is an excellent debator.

I agree. Sadly, I believe Kerry won the debate tonight. Bush really sucks as a debator. He waffles when speaking under pressure. It was very frustrating to me. I felt like I almost needed to finish his sentences for him. I agreed with what he was trying to say but he just isn't very effective at getting it across in that type of setting. I hope he gets his shit together before next week. [:/]

He must be the most inarticulate leader the country has ever had. How do you feel about his negotiating with other world leaders, then. Do you think he'd do better or do you think he's inarticulate with them too? He certainly failed to bring many into his coalition.

Hillary won't be bitter until she loses the primaries next time around.

Spelling edit

Kerry's problem - He mentioned vietnam about 15 times too many, also he says that he'll bring other nations together on the Iraq situation. Then he turns around and says were in the wrong place at the wrong time, yeah thats going to get support from other nations.

Bush - Needs to say uhhhh uh uhhhhh uhh less

You know...I think it's the crowd setting that throws him off. I would think he'd be better in a face to face or in a meeting room. Truly, though, one thing I can't stand is for someone speaking in public to go into dead silence while he gets his thoughts reorganized. It really pisses me off. I think that's the worst thing you can do. B| [:/]

I disagree with you... Kerry stating he supported getting our troops the equipment they needed yet voted against the 86BILLION dollar bill to do just that. Bush could have drove that home but he didn't. That was good, confident, leadership form at work.. Bush beat Kerry's ass in round one.

Unfortunately, a lot of people were judging them by their looks and presentation more than content.

Bush won for most ums and noises before speaking

One more comment and I'm done. I would almost give a kidney to have a Repub say that Kerry did a good job tonight or for a Dem to say the Dubya did a good job tonight. No one in the media can be nonpartisan, of that I am sure.

Pony up. The pundits at Fox were almost to the one very generous in there assessment of Kerry's performance.

I would have given anything to hear them talk substantially about things that are important to me:

1. Education
2. Social Security
3. Taxes
4. ANYTHING domestic :S

Piss poor debate on a whole - not just by the candidates but by Fox also.

I was unencumbered by the visuals (body language, facial expressions, leaning), as I was listening to an audio feed, not watching. Especially with the various camera shots, it's less distracting from what is actually being said.

Bush may have waffled and whined a bit, but I think that his presentation style was a valid one. He should emphasize flexiblity in modifying strategy as an ongoing process, rather the "my way right or wrong, since we are on this course" rhetoric.

Kerry seemed to emphasize Afghanistan as the sole seat of terrorists a bit too much. He did take the opportunity to clarify some of his positions.

Both misspoke, but that should be of little concern. I often stumble over my words, too. I would prefer that my president do better than that, but it is not really the issue.

That's next. This one was focused on national security topics. I personally think that is #1 on the list. Especially now. We'll see how it goes from here.
