BIGUN 1,409 #2 October 7, 2004 I'm fairly confident that this is about the only bipartisan issue. Until we take money out of politics, or cap it, or change it, or something, this has and always will be the case.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. It's rare to have such a blatant panderer as the majority leader. Usually politicians who are less corrupt get that powerful position.
wmw999 2,534 #4 October 7, 2004 Newt Gingrich was pilloried over less. Tom Delay is my congressman, and he sucks. I'd feel the same way if he were a Democrat. He is far worse than Gingrich was as a congressman (Gingrich actually got better when he became Speaker of the House), and as far as I can tell, he feels that the power is personally his to use, and that his having been elected means that he has a mandate to do whatever the fuck he can to remove power from people who disagree with him. Can you tell I'm likely to vote against him? Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
