Lets try something?

Recommended Posts

I am making this post because of peacefuljeffrey thread about watching OBL execution. I didn't want to hijack his thread.

Here is my question

I wonder what the families of the innocent Iraq’s we have killed think should be done with our president?

No I am in no way comparing GW to OBL but we have killed by “mistake” more then the people who were killed in 9-11 a lot more. So if the shoe was on the other foot If you were an Iraqi what would you want done to GW for starting a War that no matter what any one says was started by mistake.

Killing Innocent people is killing innocent people there is no nice way to put it.

But I know GW intention was not to kill innocent people that is a big difference then OBL.

By Innocent I mean people who were going by living their normal lives and were killed by our weapons.

I am wondering why no one has answered yet.
If you were an Iraqi whose family was killed by US forces what would you want done with GW?

And if you think my numbers are wrong just do a search you will find many sources and all are questionable.

People who are walking by when a house is destroyed by a US shell (even if the house had insurgents in it).

People who are at the back of a crowd trying to find out what's going on when soldiers fire on the people at the front who are moving in aggressively.

People who are caught in the crossfire between Iraqis and US soldiers.

Do they matter?

It's called casualties of war. Every war has them. It's part of the territory.

Yes, for the soldiers. Not for the innocents that just wanted to live out their life. They were still alive under the rule of SH, now they are dead because of GW. Somehow I don't think they feel as cold and detached about it as you do.

All I was looking for was a straight answer (ie facts for the numbers, and your definition of innocent, which I suspect is different from mine)

But since a straight answer from you is not forthcoming,I would have to say that Iraqis (sunni & shia) people that have lost any family members for any reason are probably not too pleased with GWB.Maybe they would like to see him voted out of office. The Kurds in the northern part of Iraq welcome our presence,so they probably like GWB.

There are consequences to not going to war too. Just because you get the warm and fuzzies does not make a decision moral.

Should people have avoided the American Civil War? That would have led to secession of the southern states and would definitely have left millions of blacks in chains in the south, perhaps even to this day both here and abroad.

What about the Revolutionary War? That was over tariffs on goods (I think tea was the only stamp duty that wasn't repealed).

The view that War must be avoided at all costs has led to disgusting examples of appeasement with characters like Hitler even as he sent millions to the gas chamber and annexed entire countries.

War should not be avoided at all costs, sometimes the costs of avoiding war are too great, even if it's not you who are paying that cost.

About the numbers I was just being honest there is many different figures and all are questionable.
I have no problem being straightforward.
