GWB's past failures to remember what he said is not related to his failure to remember what he said? In the immortal words of Dan Perkins - "Yeah. Whatever."

You say that he failed! Your opinion only!! Back to you "Yeah, whatever"

if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Well, it's certainly possible that he remembered and was simply flip-flopping.

So it is your opinion that he did NOT fail to remember his previous quotes, and is instead lying about them? Interesting opinion, one I think is somewhat rare in conservative circles.

What quotes, are you talikng about what Robertson said he said?

A few other errors of reporting listed on this site, too.

This is so stupid. A misquote is something that all of us do everyday. Very few of us have photographic memories. As far as one news organization versus the other one? I would rather have someone talk off the cuff and not get it exactly right, than an organization repeatedly saying that something was real, when everyone on the planet knows that its a fake. CBS made a mistake, but it was after that, that they lost my respect. It was the way that they tried to find any shred that they could, to substantiate that they were right, and the way that when they realized that they weren't they utterly refused to retract. That is arrogance and they lost my respect for that.

Kinda sad that some on here will jump at the chance to blast someone that they don't agree with, but are silent when their guy makes a mistake.
(that was directed at all of us, myself included)

It wasn't a misquote, it was a denial.
There's a lot of difference between a misquote and a denial that something was said when the evidence is right in front of you.

Rather like claiming you have a good record on jobs when your administration has lost 900,000 - just a misquote.

Rather like saying that your stated low priority on capturing OBL is an exaggeration, when your own White House website has the transcript showing that you said it - just a misquote.

Wanna buy a bridge?;)

Dan Rather's producer solicited and looked for "stuff" from a guy named Bill Burket.

Quote

CBS' sole source authenticating the forged National Guard documents is Bill Burkett, who's about as sane as Margot Kidder was when they dragged her filthy, toothless butt out of somebody's shrubs a few years back. Burkett has compared Bush to Hitler and Napoleon, and rambles on about Bush's "demonic personality shortcomings."

It wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention
