usskydiver 0 #51 November 24, 2004 This thread strikes close to my heart and is interesting enough to post to in The Bonfire so here are my thoughts... My work gun (secondary): Beretta (sp?)..issued..USAF/CCT My others (home defense etc.) Glock 19 (17 rd pre-ban mags) Kimber TC-II - (ambi-safety had some problems that were fixed promptly under warranty quickly) To sum up...I was out shot by John Shaw and Donny Chatalain (sp?) in '98...who were using Glocks and shooting upside down...I was shooting right side up...ok, I'll buy the "it's not the gun it's the shooter/sight picture" argument but I got beat and had to buy the big bottle of Jack... Proficiency is everything!! Tim T.
gmanpilot 0 #52 November 24, 2004 QuoteAlways be weary of cops who tell you their "expert" opinion about weapons and their personal favorites. Most law enforcement officers are extremely poor when it comes to marksmanship let alone have experience firing thousands among thousands of rounds in a week with various weapons to hold any sort of worthy opinion. Always be weary of anyone making blanket statements like that, it says more about them than it does about the subject matter. You have average and elite shooters in both military and LE. Get over yourself dude._________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap.

cvfd1399 0 #54 November 24, 2004 Yes you are right we can only carry the 220 as primary only. I am not sure of a smaller sig. I carry 11 rounds in the glock, and a extra 10 round mag next to it. That gives me a total of 25 rounds of 45. and 22 rounds of .40 If I need more than that I will have hopefully made it back to the rack to get the shotgun, or the trunk for the "bitch"
skyjunior 0 #55 November 24, 2004 I have a glock 36 and probably average a 100 rounds a week. More than some, less than others. I have never had a malfunction with this weapon. As for as accuracy goes, I can put all rounds in a four inch circle just as fast as I can pull the trigger at 7 and 10 yards. At 25 yards the pistol is more accurate than I am. This glock is my carry weapon and if I did not think I could stake my life on it, I would be carrying something else. Not to discount any other manufacturer, but I am quite satisfied with my glock. peacefuljeffrey 0 #56 November 24, 2004 QuoteNever liked Glocks. Very unaccurate and unreliable. Always stuck to H&K and Sig Sauer. Arguably the 2 greatest brands of weapons in the world. Well, I won't argue with you about H&K, since I love their stuff and love my USP .40, but I don't know if I can agree about the Glock/reliability statement you made there. I can't say I know about the accuracy part of it, since I have a 27, which is not an "accuracy gun." But for one single stoppage due to a stovepipe (probably attributable to the round, not the gun) it has never malfunctioned. And it's accurate enough at close-quarters distances... -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" PhillyKev 0 #57 November 24, 2004 QuoteI would not own nor suggest Glocks to anyone. They may be usable for cops, security guards, etc... but in the real world they don't hold up to the stress and harsh conditions encountered in the military. Ha...ha ha ha ha ha....ha...ha.... that is all.

I was pretty pissed that would happen on a $900.00 gun. Our new range is going to be frangible only due to construction and clean up costs so a vendor sent me some to try. He swears it will feed through our Baretta's and my Glock 19. We'll see. check out: http://www.iccammo.com and watch the Live Fire Protcols video. The guy doing the shotgun demo caught some splash but seems pretty effective nonetheless.
