Flarelatedad 0 #1 January 21, 2005 Interesting reading. BTW didn't see anything about this on CNN.com http://newsmax.com/archives/ic/2005/1/20/02859.shtml A former Ku Klux Klansman who once vowed to keep the military segregated is single-handedly holding up the confirmation of Secretary of State-nominee Condoleezza Rice, the first African-American woman to be appointed to the office. DrunkMonkey 0 #5 January 21, 2005 Byrd is just the afterbirth of the abomination that was Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms. Hopefully he'll quit soon, or the morons in WV don't reelect him...
Rebecca 0 #6 January 21, 2005 Isn't he thisclose to kicking it? Hopefully his antiquated deplorable racist ideals will permanently leave the Senate with him. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? freeflight 0 #7 January 21, 2005 he is a public official that represents all those that agree with bs that comes out of him. may be it is the other way around. he is what he is due to a great amount of people who want someone like him to represent them. they kinda dont like black, browns, yellows. or anything that doesnot have a red neck or talks without having something behind a lip) (not directed towards any of you good rednecks out there)
slug 1 #8 January 22, 2005 My speed read of the news clip indicates the old fart has been in congress for 40 yr's so he's got senority, and can bring home the pork. Some of his campaign workers are probably second or third genration folks feasting from Bryds old pork barrel. Politic's R.i.P.
TheAnvil 0 #9 January 23, 2005 On the lines of this latest Byrd-shyte, let's do a quick comparison. John Ashcroft is nominated for AG. It comes out that he voted against the confirmation of Judge White, a black judge. John Ashcroft does not support institutionalized racial discrimination (affirmative action) and had voted for confirmation of I believe 26 or 27 of 28 black judges during his tenure in the senate. Not voting for Judge White was enough grounds for the media to brand him a racist and mutliple attempts by leftists organizations to 'borh' him. Robert Byrd is a former member of the KKK - though after he resigned from the KKK he still continued to actively support it for several years. Byrd supports racial discrimination in the form of affirmative action. He voted against the confirmation of Judge Clarence Thomas and is now blocking Dr. Rice's nomination. Not a peep of outrage from the media. And some folks claim not leftist media bias. Bullshyte. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
