Ethical Hunting Pushing the Envelope

Recommended Posts

1 mile?? you say that like its a distance or something. exactly how lazy are you?? 1 mile? :S and bring a bow next time… see how many deer you get… and see how much closer you have to be… then come back and tell me YOU did the actual work instead of your rifle…

Just to pick out that last part: Nothing wrong in using the rifle as a proper tool for hunting. If it is a bow and arrow, axe or whatever you like: Today it's a rifle. And that's OK as that is granting the quickest, cleanest way to kill a deer (f.e.). And for that it needs skills. That has nothing to do with beeing lazy. After an animal is shot, it has to be treated quickly in appropriate way.

As much as I dislike to agree to JohnRich's arguments/post, I have to admit he's fully right. He was just describing that proper and correct way of hunting I learned here in Germany/Europe. F.e. we have controlled hunting, hunting seasons. You have the same.
Over all, for us here it's much more important to have controlled huntings as, f.e. predators for deer are at zero. So hunters have to take over control. There is no natural selection. (Except perhaps long, hard winters). That's just one small point out of many others.

I really do unterstand your point of view. But it's absolutely wrong just to say "every child could do it". It needs much more. You know it, I guess.

Good hunters are not a bunch of killers. It's not just a sport but, much more beeing very close to nature, beeing a part of it. Believe it or not :| I feel like that.

Aw shucks, it didn't hurt all that much, did it?

I'm sure we'll make up for this rare agreement, somewhere else, very soon.

John

It did not really hurt :)

Let's see. Perhaps. Anyhow, thx for your reply.
