I didn't hit the link, but I"m guessing it Jerry Miculek? If so, that guy is amazingly fast!!

That is an understatement. He's super human.

That is impressive.

I'd like to see what he could do with an off the shelf revolver and no speed loader. I'm sure he'd still kick the crap out of your average shooter and it would be a more fair example.

Its sort of like those guys shooting the .38 supers with $4000 worth of extras to make their weapon a super fast toy not good for real life, BUT those guys can still really shoot so even with a Glock 22 they shoot fast and accurate.

I like , but from what I understand and it's been a while you can't have more then a 9 round clip or something.

Aggie, don't get me going on that route again. I like skydiving. when I got into the glocks I turned into the kid in the candy store. I mean at the range.

man, i heard that in september they didn't vote the brady bill into an extension or something and that you could get the begger mags now. i haven't done any shopping to get some yet, so i don't know if it's true. i had three left pre-ban.

Yeah, you can buy full capacity magazines now, instead of the ban limited capacity magazines.

The prices have come way down on them too, you can pick up full capacity mags for just a little more then the lower capacity mags.

I believe you can make any semi-auto a fully-auto with a file and a bit of know how. :)

I had a .45 ACP Colt that would occasionally slip into full-auto mode and empty the clip. The first couple times it happened, I thought I was imagining it. Then about the fourth time it happened was at a public range, and I looked over to see the guy next to me with his jaw dropped in amazement. It was completely unpredictable when it would happen, but when it did, it would empty the clip.

I took it to my local gun shop and asked them to send it in to Colt with a request to either put it back to semi-auto, or add a selective-fire lever. Colt replaced a couple parts and sent it back with no charges.

In some cases you need a replacement part or three. With the file and know how, it's almost always possible to make a full auto gun that continues to fire until the clip is empty (so, one pull of the trigger = one empty clip), but it's not always possible to make a full auto gun that you can stop firing by releasing the trigger.

If the person had any "know-how", they wouldn't do this at all.

Disabling the disconnector on a semi-automatic weapon does not cause it to fire full auto, it turns it in to a dangerous, malfunctioning piece of $hit. If you continue to use it like this it will eventually destroy itself- and possibly your face.

There is a reason all production closed bolt full autos have some sort of auto sear.

I'm pretty fast.......but that's rediculous. I want to take that guy to Iraq with me. Just think what he could do with an M-4. :D

Shit..the M4 would probably have a misfeed from the magazine. I bet he could pull off SPORTS in 1.6876 seconds though... :D

At our guns shop the Glock mags are the same for 10 rounders or the Hi-caps, $19.95. That big, long 34 rounder hanging out of the Glock 18 is less than $40 now, used to be over a hundred, if you could find a pre-ban one.

There have been a few "automatic" pistols over the years. Most notably the Russian Stetchkin and the German Mauser 712 (or Modele 1921).

The fundamental problem with both these pistols (apart from their size) was their rate of fire, which was commonly in excess of 800 rounds per minute due to the lightness of the reciprocating parts and their short travel. Further, these weapons operated from a closed bolt and were prone to "cooking off"!>:(

In effect, even with a 20 round magazine, one trigger pull of, say, a Mauser 712 on "R" would almost certainly empty the magazine (80% straight up), and if it didn't, then round #19 would probably cook off in the chamber!

In more modern times, Heckler & Koch have attempted to address selective fire pistols with their VP-70, but it was unpopular.

At the end of the day, full-auto & handguns really just doesn't mix.

After hubby watched the clip a few times, he figures the guy is shooting VERY light loads. I can't imagine the gun being that steady with full loads on a .38 revolover.

Very light loads and about a 1/10 lb trigger pull with absolutely no slack. Still, he's freakin fast.
