Just about all the ones I've seen on shelves are either those huge "fistful" competition things or the small black cylinder with the silver knob. I was looking in this month's American Rifleman and I saw the Safariland Comp I speedloader (page 78). It seems like it would take up a lot less space, but I'm wondering how positive the load would be... Not that I can actually carry right now - twenty some states trust me to carry, but not my own home state of New Jersey - but I was looking into a convenient way to carry five extra. I know some guys that use the Safariland successfully and like it, but I couldn't tell you any more then that. Now, using a different manufacture's magazine in your 1911 to get a better drop, without using a true weighted magazine...that I could tell you about.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." My favorite is the 21, but the 27 is a bit more convenient for concealed carry because it is smaller. There is a way cool accessory that you can buy for for concealed carry. It looks like a really big clip (like the metal clip on a push-button ballpoint pen). I saw it advertised in America's First Freedom and highly recommend them. It's called the "clipdraw". Check out http://www.clipdraw.com for details. I don't know how they are for other guns, but I easily bolted them on my Glocks and swear by them.
