SpeedRacer 1 #1 June 8, 2005 Here's Pat Buchanan's take on Richard Perle's book: An End to Evil: How to Win the War on Terror. http://amconmag.com/3_1_04/cover.html It was published March 1, 2004. Buchanan uses the term "Neo-con" a lot. He believes in the more traditional Republicanism, which emphasizes a smaller government which takes care of America first without an excessively intrusive foreign policy. It is more in-line with the founding fathers' position to avoid foreign entanglements. The Neo-Cons are a newer type of "Republican" that believe the best thing for America & the world is to establish American military dominance globally. see the PNAC website www.PNAC.org. That is about as far from "small government" as you can get. So we have a lot of people on this thread who are pro-Republican, "conservative", etc. But which type of Republican are you? mcarchangel 0 #2 June 8, 2005 Pat Buchanan is the Republican party's version of Howard Dean. The difference being the Republicans are smart enough to keep Buchanan out of any position of power. Crazy extreme is a little less respectible in the Republican party than the Democratic party.------------------------------------------------------- "These are the old days, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. SpeedRacer 1 #3 June 8, 2005 hmmm, that's one take on it. But in the old days the Republicans WERE isolationist. and some would argue that trying to dominate the world militarily is a bit "crazy extreme" and certainly less in keeping with the idea of a smaller government Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
