Churchill said "democracy is the best form of the worst type of govt" he also said "never give in" and no this wasnt in your opinion it was in churchills you just borrowed the idea.

Focus!:|
I never said it was mine. I explicitely specified it was Churchill's.
IMO referred to replacing the word "democracy" with the words "US judicial system".

Anyone working on that Advil yet?

Putting a child of less then 6 months old over a balcony is so different then letting a child participate in sports.

Very true. By participating in sports he is at much greater risk of getting injured.
That spot isn't bad at all, the winds were strong and that was the issue! It was just on the downwind side.

There is risk, as parents we take our childrens lives into our hands, we are there to protect them from harm, not there to potentually hurt them by making obvious bad decsions.

Please forgive my spelling, it has been brought to my attention by very nice wonderful females that my grammer is less then desirable, however although I am not as smart as those wonderful woman, at least I have something to contribute besides a laugh... regardless if it is spelled wrong.

After reading all this thread."exhausted" I don't know if any of you guys watched the jurors after the event. They were saying without a reasonable doubt. The DA couldn't prove his guilt. I personally, find jacko a fucking weirdo. But lets be honest. Would you want some of your friends or family going to prison for life because someone said you commited a crime against them. The facts were sketchy at the best of times. Should we all say he's guilty because the media portrayed this.

Hey, Frenchy! I've got some Advil, vodka, tequila, and many other methods of keeping that headache at bay...

Someone above mentioned that they were concerned for the "next victim." While that's definitely something to consider, as jurors that is NOT allowed. In this system, it is not those crimes which are thought of but not yet committed; rather, it bases itself on the "innocent until proved guilty in a court of law" that we honor.

I recall sitting in a jury room, listening to how stupid I was to not convict a gang banger on the crimes he was accused of. The main theme was "the blood of his next victim is on your head" and "think about the next poor person he beats up. Convict him on that; I am..."

I sat there, listening intently, and my response was to stick with my vote...there was some evidence, but not enough to make me cross the threshold of "reasonable doubt." The jury hung.

Those were some difficult days, sitting there considering the fate of someone. To be responsible, and to put aside any preconception about his guilt from his appearance, or from the fact that he had several convictions prior to this one, and all the other easy way outs which made differences to the folks who were screaming for the "next victims" and placing their blood on my head and in my hands.

To this day, I do not feel shamed that I voted the way I did. And I fervently pray that he was able to come back from whatever eventually occurred to him, and that there is no blood to blame on me. And if there was, it still is not something I can feel badly about, because that crime had not yet occurred; I was deciding on the evidence presented at that particular trial for that particular series of offenses, and not on future behavior.

It is that particular perspective - the "put him away, I don't care if he's innocent...there may be victims in the future, so put his happy ass away!!!" that is very scary to read about. That bespeaks a violence which I find abhorrant, but people are also allowed their opinions based on whatever they choose to base them on, reality or cogent reasoning or not. I just hope that these folks, unable to put aside prejudgment, find a way to get permanently excused from jury duty.

Michele

Exactly, my opinion of MJ's mental health has nothing to do with whether or not his case was presented to prove his guilt to a point beyond reasonable doubt. The prosecution's case left doubt in my mind as well as those of his jurors. A personal opinion shouldn't sway the facts. The facts just weren't there in this court case. Whether I think he's guilty or not has nothing to do with it.

And to lisamariewillbe, don't be so sensitive. For the record, I was laughing at who was correcting your grammar. We poke fun at each other all the time. It doesn't mean a thing. :S

Bingo! Our justice system was designed so that we would rather have 10 guilty people go free rather than have one innocent person put in jail. Too me that is somewhat comforting because I know I don't want to rot in a jail cell for something I didn't do. Lately there have been way too many cases where DNA has freed people that have spent 20+ years in prison for crimes they didn't commit. That to me is 1,000 times worse than MJ going free.

I believe MJ is guilty but if the evidence wasn't there I guess justice won in the end (Not really but ... sigh)

I would really like to see DAs that were of the same caliber as some of these high priced attorneys. Why not pay a supremely talented DA a LARGE salary to attract the best talent? Kind of even the playing field

I have justified my opinions more then enough on here. As I said before and as I will say again I believe he is a molesting son of a bitch who deserves to burn in hell, I do not need to be "intelligant" to form my own feelings on this issue , which im not, just like you do not have to be a ass to negate them.

Oh boy, reading your posts is scary... :S I sure hope you'd rethink you position -- if not now, may be at some point later in your life. I don't want to repeat all arguments that many people expressed in this thread already, so I won't comment more...

To me, personally, MJ is a freaking shithead -- never liked him, never will; however, the justice is about proving one guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, NOT the other way around, as you seem to think. Just think for a minute and decide for yourself if you really want a justice system which would presume someone guilty just because me, you, whoever else didn't like the guy, and make them prove their innocence. B| If your answer is "yes", you probably are in the "wrong era", or in the wrong country... [:/] And yes, I totally agree with everyone who said that letting someone guilty walk free is much better than sending an innocent person behind bars...

Dude,

Have you actually read the thread, or are you just shooting from the hip?

comments from jurors regarding the mother of the boy and her testimony

#10 about in tears, nothing major to say

#5 I didnt like how she snaps her fingers

(cant remember #) she kept looking at us and that was uncomfortable,

Wow great comments. What does this have to do with the trial?? What does this have to do with her son being a victum?

When asked if they would allow their children at the neverland ranch , most said NO

HMMMMMmmmm
