Hire PETA President for the Day on Ebay

Recommended Posts

"To a sick child or his parents, nothing is more important than restored health. But trying to equate animal testing with improved health ignores the myriad failures of animal testing..."

What do they propose we test new drugs on? Perhaps PETA members would like to volunteer so the poor plague-spreading, sewer-dwelling, shit-eating rats don't have to.

I'd call in the network news and ask her to explain their walk in freezer....

While you're at it, ask her how that plan to put blaze-orange hunting vests on deer worked out for them :D:D

No, it's an urban legend (but a hilarious one) that pissed PETA off enough that they put a media release on their website saying they didn't do it.

As a side note, it looks like this auction is actually real - I thought it was a joke when I first saw it.

I don't know much about PETA, being from the UK.

Here we have the RSPCA - Royal Society For the Protection of Animals, that are widely respected and championed for the work they do. How do these organisations differ? It seems everyone lambasts PETA and blasts them for doing - on surface level - a similar job as the RSPCA. The one different i guess is the RSPCA is more of a faceless organisation - no one "champion" for the cause, if you like.

Can someone explain - sensibly - why it is people seem to hate PETA?

Thanks

I don't know much about the RSPCA but PETA is a pretty radical organization that crosses too many boundaries and often their tactics are far too illegal. If PETA had their way the world would be vegetarians, no more turkey on thanksgiving (just way to cruel to grow animals for food) but then hunting is cruel too for them. Just check out their website, it is pretty ignorant and ridiculous. www.peta.org They oppose animal testing of any kind and get all their information from looney activists and celebrities rather than studies. For that I say, quit bitching and voluteer yourself then. All of it is propaganda with no realistic solution.

The reason I hate them though, I've had them illegally trespass multiple times and interfere with my hunting. They've vandalized my vehicles on the side of the field I was hunting in. When I leave my hunting spot for the day and come back, my treestand was cut down and destroyed. I've seen them bring their children and walk thru the forest I was hunting blowing whistles. All of these scenarios happened on private property.

Thanks for the sensible reply. The difference seems to be they are imposing what they think is right over what the RSPCA does, which is just protecting animals that are being harmed in some way (like cruelty and neglect cases etc etc). I could never see the RSPCA suddenly saying "right, we can't eat turkey on Xmas anymore" because it's not within their operating juristiction or remit.

Howard Stern had some hot PETA representatives in the studio. He brought in live bugs, crabs, worms. Threatened to kill them in front of them if they didn't get naked and make out with each other. They did thereby saving the cockroaches and maggots. PETA is about as radical and whacked as you can get...but you gotta admire their conviction :D

of the things you could have her do is listed
"Or perhaps you have other ideas."

Why yes, yes I do. And the come-along camera crew will fit in very nicely....
My reality and yours are quite different.
