Most who talked of withdrawal a few weeks ago were doing so in an absurd manner, as are most who broach the subject today. Given our current non-insubstantial presence in Europe and Asia, I do not foresee a near future with no troop presence in Iraq or Afghanistan. This timetable thing is just deranged. Events are what foreign policy is based upon - not time.

I, like you, get tired of baseless claims.

Do I think mistakes were made? Yes
Do I think that any situation like this would go perfect regardless of the who's in charge? No

Do I think GWB is right on everything? Absolutely not!!

But I also think that what is going on in and about Iraq needs to be looked at fairly.........and I am positive that the left will not do that because they have nothing to gain if the prez is right and then he wins this war!

14 of 18 provinces are under Iraqi control (for the most part). Those that are under Iraqi control have more electricity, water and sewer services than when SH was in charge. Over 3000 schools have been built, the children of Iraq have been vacinated. The economy in those regions is growing.

Libia disarmed itself because of Iraq (I think)

Bush's plan is working!!! Not as quickly as he said or hoped but it is working. "When Iraqi's stand up, the US will stand down". He has been saying that for over a year! So now the Dems are saying they forced Bush into a plan to leave?

I back the political positioning argument with this. Yesterday Mrs. Clinton said for the first time, "I made a mistake voting for the war". While she has the right to change her mind, the motivation is suspect to me. Why did she do it now? Because she is way down in the presidential polls!
