BillyVance 34 #1 January 6, 2006 What is Pat Robertson drinking? He's at it again, spewing ridiculous drivel... Seen in a small article today in the newspaper: Robertson: Stroke is divine punishment Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine punishment for "dividing God's land." "God considers this land to be His," Robertson said on his TV program "The 700 Club." "For any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, 'No, this is mine.' " The prophet Joel "makes it very clear that God has enmity against those who 'divide my land,' " he said. Now we all know that Israel became a country shortly after WWII and the Arabs have resented this intrusion ever since, and Ariel is a bit somewhat of a hard-liner, especially when the Palestinian supporters keep bombing and shooting rockets at the Israelites... but Pat Robertson is a moron. We all remember the fiasco with his comments about Venezuelan president/dictator Chavez... billvon 3,008 #2 January 6, 2006 Yep, saw that yesterday. As AggieDave would put it - what an asshat. Along those lines we have today's asshat minister: ------------------------------------------ Anti-Gay Pastor Busted For Trying To Pick Up Prostitute by The Associated Press Posted: January 4, 2006 - 9:00 pm ET (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) An executive committee member of the Southern Baptist Convention was arrested on a lewdness charge for propositioning a male plainclothes policeman outside a hotel, police said. Lonnie Latham, senior pastor at South Tulsa Baptist Church, was booked into Oklahoma County Jail Tuesday night on a misdemeanor charge of offering to engage in an act of lewdness, police Capt. Jeffrey Becker said. Latham was released on $500 bail Wednesday afternoon. Latham, who has spoken out against homosexuality, asked the officer to join him in his hotel room for oral sex. . . . He has also spoken out against same-sex marriage and in support of a Southern Baptist Convention directive urging its 42,000 churches to befriend gays and lesbians and try to convince them that they can become heterosexual "if they accept Jesus Christ as their savior and reject their sinful, destructive lifestyle." Amazon 7 #9 January 6, 2006 Quote They weren't kidding when they said extreme homophobia is a sign of latent homosexuality Gee ya think??? http://www.spokesmanreview.com/jimwest/story.asp?ID=050505_west_politics In an Internet chat room last New Year’s Eve where he discussed his recent date with an 18-year-old man, Spokane Mayor Jim West criticized the “sex Nazis” who try to regulate private sexual behavior. For years, that’s exactly what West tried to do in Olympia. Over two decades, West rose to power in the Washington Legislature with a carefully cultivated image as a fiscally conservative Republican opposed to gay rights, abortion rights and teenage sex.
