Daniel therefore could not have written about those countries by the names which they are known today, and so God gave Daniel metaphorical names to use, which in the end times could be related to certain nations . Daniel DID NOT know or understand the meaning of what he was inspired to write, ( See Daniel 7:15, 28, : 8:27, 12:8-9-10, 13 ), perhaps mainly because he was unable to identify the nations who had not been named as they are today. He told many of his associates at the time of his vision, but no one understood it. As for the many people who have predicted the end of the world and the coming of Christ, which has not taken place as yet, they clearly did not understand the scriptures. "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the LAST DAYS, scoffers ( such as are ound on DZ.Com, ) walking after their own lusts (disbeliefs).
