How long before we will all have computer chips in us?

Recommended Posts

There is so much information that can be stored in a tiny computer chip that could be implanted in humans. Think of all the possibilites if we all were implanted!!! No credit cards or cash to carry around, identity theft would probably become extinct...
Come on guys let's argueB| ( and laughing at me is permissible! :D)

ComputerChip

How long before we all become "chipped"? :|

Don't you think I know about the correlation between the mark of the beast and computer chips??? :o:|:S

Anyway...if computer chips aren't the mark of the beast...are you going to take the mark, Rob??? :o
hint: if the mark says 666, Rob, you would be wise not to take it:P

Computer chip? Sure I am down for it. Information is good for you.

Yeah just think of all the information it could hold!!! The government could regulate it, so they could track you and have every kind of medical history, job history, bank account info, etc. :)Think of all the possibilities for mankind!!!! :)edited to add: You never answered how long! :|:(

Never answered how long what?

As for information, on one hand, giving the government access to everything about me is a tad scary. On the other though, they already probably do.

Reread the thread title please:|;). And you just like to argue don't you??????????????????

Yeah, I like to argue. If the argument is good, I ALWAYS come away with new insight and knowledge...even if I don't agree with it.

As for how long? Don't care. I barely use my cell phone so having a computer chip implanted is not high on my priorities. But given that McDonald's JUST got the ability to accept debit cards, I am going to say it will be awhile.

I agree:)

wow, 4-5 years for EVERY human being? That is a bold statement. After all, there are still humans who do not even have electricity or running water...in the US, not to mention the rest of the world.

I said AT LEAST:S----->>>meaning, no less than 4-5 years, but probably a lot longer:S

Heeeeeeeeeey Justin!!! B|

oh, you are just covering your ass. :D

Okay, here is my prediction: AT LEAST 4 seconds from now. :)

yeah yeah yeah. Actually, I am sitting on my butt right now. And my prediction is at least 5 seconds from now. I win!

Wouldn't mind... just as long as they don't implant the damn chip in a finger. Wouldn't want having my finger chopped off by identity theives wanting to use it for their gain... :S

Probably better than if they switch to retina scanning technology, though, right? ;)

When I was in private practice, I had a client (Cyberkinetics, Inc.) that developed a chip that could be implanted on the surface of a quadriplegic’s brain. The chip read the activity of the neurons (a statistical sampling of only 100 neurons, believe it or not), and a computer that was linked to the chip could convert data from the chip into useful, patient-controlled information.

So, for instance, the patient could "think" a mouse on a computer screen to move up, down, left, right, and “click”. Now, when you start thinking of the implications of this technology, it’s pretty amazing.

Expand the technology to a wireless chip (relatively easy to do) or a non-invasive technology, so that it's not a chip, but a helment (relatively harder to do, but not impossible), and you've got the making of a really amazing technology.
