rehmwa 2 #54 February 22, 2006 Quote Um, fine. But I mean, what's the point of calling it an Atheist Boogie if people are going to do religious things? AH HA! I'll get gigged for this (again, and from both far ends of the argument), but if it's a themed Atheist boogie, all the regular skydivers won't provide much profit as they'd be jumping anyway, and the profit margin on up jumpers ain't that great. But all the non-jumping atheists in the region will use this as an excuse to go mingle with other atheists and do a TON of tandems - "hmmm, I've always meant to do tandems, but now I can do a tandem and stand for my good cause of atheism at the same time. And it's a lot more fun than just another lame-o march down mainstreet again". (Some people can't even take a shit if they don't think it's in support of some cause or another). And, it'll get on the news guaranteed. Thus making profit for those running the boogie. Thus keeping another DZ healthy for another year. Thus supporting skydiving in general by promoting "JUMPING" in their area. I support DZs operating and jumpers having fun. Plus all the dz.com forum traffic will provide a ton of free advertising for the atheist cause. And a good time may very well be had by all. Of course, DZOs shouldn't be allowed to make a profit on anything. But we can turn a blind eye to that just this once. mmmm-kay ... livendive 8 #55 February 22, 2006 Quote I vote for a 182 boogie -where everyone has their own 182, waiting just for you , whenever you want to jump. You could organize 20 way plane jumps and stuff.... That's a great idea. Maybe we could get Dave Ruckert to organize it. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!"
