Zenister 0 #76 February 27, 2006 not at all. i agree with RL.. It is more entertainment than anything else. Rarely does any thread or topic reaches the level of 'debate' Debate requires a (some what) informed opinion by all participants... most of the time, 'discussion' in the SC is similar to explaining the taste of 'Pumpkin Pie' to a child who has never seen a Pumpkin. He LOVES 'Apple Pie' (has never seen an apple either, but dont point that out you might hurt someone's feelings..), refuses to believe that such a thing called 'Pumpkin Pie' exists at all and even if it did if could never be as good or tasty to ANYONE ELSE as Apple Pie is to them... but who knows.. maybe two lurkers have been inspired to learn more about something new, something outside their personal experience, and have attempted to educate themselves beyond their cultural indoctrination... one can always hope....____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. I've learned from this post and want to immediately go out and eat an Apple Pie. Best post of the thread so far. My rage is gone, and now I only want a dessert of some kind. thanks ... rehmwa 2 #79 February 27, 2006 I think I like most all of these people. I'd like to see less sniping (let alone PAs, insults, "Thinly Veiled Personal Attacks" (TM), and cleverly crafted putdowns). But that might be a lot to ask. And likely a lot less fun for some. ... Andy9o8 2 #83 February 28, 2006 Actually, "Thinly Veiled Personal Attacks" (TM), and cleverly crafted putdowns, if fairly well-done, are a bit of an art form, to be appreciated as such.
juanesky 0 #84 February 28, 2006 Well it is SC after all if I wanted to talk about prime numbers then bonfire would have been a more appropiate place to post such reference."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon

I knew someone was likely gonna say something like that. How? Because it has become abundantly clear, based on some people's actions, that it is exactly how they feel. It's juvenile, but it's true. "Let's see how far I can push the rules that the mods enforce so I can publicly humiliate this guy and make him know I think he's an asshole." Great way to be. At least my posts simply tell you what I think about the issue we're discussing. And if I make what you claim is a TVPA, it's simply out of exasperation that after the 17th time explaining my view, a person is still pretending he can't get it. That's way different from just going off on someone 'cause you don't like him. --Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" GTAVercetti 0 #87 February 28, 2006 Quote Quote That and random primary numbers....Sets me off... Random primary numbers? I do not think that word means what you think it means. What? Let's say I put a bunch of prime numbers in a basket and ask you to pick one without looking? Assuming I did not cheat and make them all 1, would that not be random? Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

windcatcher 0 #93 March 1, 2006 I know, isn't is terrible? Well, I am at one of my jobs, a work study position where I check people into the athletic center using a computer. Too bad for me people don't come in all the time otherwise I'd have an excuse NOT to be on the computer Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
