I'd be against it if it were done inhumanely. Nothing wrong with hunting, but there is something wrong (IMO) with needless suffering of any animal.

This inhumane activity brings your country to the level of China. Funny thing is recently I read that the Chinese were making cosmetics with the skin of executed criminals. I did not find it at all surprising that a country eating dogs and performing forced abortions would use human skin for cosmetics. Please have some decency and put a stop to this.

If the US were doing this, the usual suspects here would fill the forum with passionate expressions of righteous anger, bashing away relentlessly like they do everything else US related.
But since it's China doing it, those same posters just sit back in uncaring silence -- I guess there's just no fun to be had bashing China.

The title of this thread is incorrect. The premise of the petition is incorrect. There is no hunt on baby seals. Signing the petition is infinitely stupid, since you are asking for people to stop doing something they aren't doing to begin with.

I agree. Though the rest of the world needs China at this point. So, nobody can force them to do anything, cause they really have no recourse. Just like the whole world really doesn't do anything about Gitmo. Cause there is no recourse at this point. Countries as well as large corporations tend to only fight fights they think they can win.

I do live in Texas. As for eating meat, I eat what is correctly part of the food chain. I have been through this before. Deer, cows, pigs eat grass, they can extract the chlorophyll from the plants. Plants make their own by photosynthesis. Eating dog, bears or another carnivore is not natural.
Do I hunt? Hell no!!! If I was starving and had not other choice I would. But to just go out and shoot an animal for pleasure one has to be an asshole.
