Live life for life not for death, what happens when you die? you will never know until it happens.

That’s an unfathomable shortsighted vision given eternity. Right now, you are as dead in your sin as that corpse rotting in the graveyard. You’re right. We won’t know everything about what happens next until it happens; however, we’ve been given enough to go on. I do live life for life. Death is just a transition for those who are right with God.

seeing you are so easil offended i'll rephaise the message.

You’re offending God. I’m not easily offended at all. I was a Green Beret on an Army Special Forces Operational Detachment for 17 years. I’ve experienced plenty and you’d be hard pressed to offend or scare me off. That you can be sure of… ;)

If god was such a good fellow then he would have given the understanding to all. meaning what about the aborigonals and maori and pigmes and zulus and any other group of people that lived well before the missionaries could convey the message of god? did they all burn in hell because they were unaware of gods existance?

Quote

No one will go to hell because they haven’t heard of Jesus Christ. The heathen will go to hell for murder, rape, adultery, lust, theft, lying, etc. (e.g. See God’s moral law; 10 Commandments). Sin is not failing to hear the gospel. Rather, sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4).

For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Romans 2:12-13

I’m sure we don’t know everything about this and what provisions God might have for some who have never heard the good news. That’s between them and God. You and I, however, have heard the message and are accountable to our conscious (con = with; science = knowledge) and will be judged accordingly. It is also the responsibility of the believer to try and reach as many as possible who haven’t heard.

It is all a lie, a story to keep you feeding the coins into the bag or 20% of your income dependind on your faith.

Where is your evidence to support the claim that the authors were insincere, especially all of them?

Quote

Unique in Continuity:
The Bible was written over a period of 1600 years by more than 40 writers from all walks of life. Some were fishermen; some were politicians; others were generals or kings, shepherds or historians. They were from three different continents, and wrote in three different languages. They wrote on hundreds of controversial subjects yet they wrote with agreement and harmony. They wrote in dungeons, in temples, on beaches, and on hillsides, during peacetime and during war. Yet their words sound like they came from the same source.

Coincidence?

More tidbits about the Bible:

Quote

Unique in Circulation:
The first book to be printed was the Bible. It has been read by more people and printed more times than any other book in history.

Unique in Translation:
The Bible has been translated into over 1400 languages. No other book even comes close.

Unique in its survival:
In ancient times, books were copied by hand onto manuscripts which were made from parchment and would decay over time. Ancient books are available today only because someone made copies of the originals to preserve them (e.g. Original writings of Julius Caesar are no longer around. We know what he wrote only by the copies we have. Only 10 copies still exist, and they were made 1000 years after he died). No other book has as many copies of the ancient manuscripts as the Bible. In fact, there are over 24000 copies of New Testament manuscripts, some written within 35 years of the writer’s death.

Unique in withstanding attack:
No other book has been so attacked throughout history as the Bible. In A.D. 200 the Roman emperor Diocletian ordered every Bible burned because he thought that by destroying the Scriptures he could destroy Christianity. Anyone caught with one would be executed. But just 25 years later, the Roman emperor Constantine ordered that 50 perfect copies of the Bible be made at government expense. The French philosopher Voltaire, a skeptic who destroyed the faith of many people, boasted that within 100 years of his death, the Bible would disappear from the face of the earth. Voltaire died in 1728, but the Bible lives on. The irony of history is that 50 years after his death, the Geneva Bible Society moved into his former house and used his printing presses to print thousands of Bibles. The Bible has survived criticism. No book has been more attacked for its accuracy. Any yet archeologists are proving every year that the Bible’s detailed descriptions of historic events are correct.

you cant fool me with all the mumbo jumbo 88:12 blah blah.

I’m not trying to be deceptive. You can look it up in your own Bible if you’ve got one.

i have eyes and a mind that are open. i live amoungst nature and i have all respect for that nature, the sun and earth are my gods and your sexist racist, unfair, unkind wanker of a god is a crock of shit anyway!

The knowledge of right and wrong has been imprinted on your heart since you were born. Your conscious will attest to that, if you’re honest. God’s moral law should appeal to it and convict.

Quote

I went to a christian school and they had 5 years to convince me,

they didn't in fact they proved themselves as rogues when they handed that money bag around at the end of the session!

You’re specific dealings with some people who may have been poor examples of Christians is no reflection on the truth that’s in the Bible. It’s not those Christians or anyone else who’s going to “convince” you. God is the only one who can call someone to conversion.

Quote

bah, I just get tired of holier than thou christian fucks who try to lure unsespecting characters by threatening a milenia of pain and suffering if they don't abide by thier beliefs.

a crock of shit, for morons.

I promise you I’m not “holier than thou.” I’ve broken every one of God’s 10 Commandments countless times. I’m also not judging you. The 10 Commandments convict, not me. You’re already guilty. So am I. So is everyone else.

Born again Christians do not go to heaven because they are good people. They go to heaven because they are bad people who have been forgiven. I wish you would go through the 10 Commandments and watch the video in my links below.

Have your military experiences influenced your religious beleifs? I am curious because I imagine that having to do the kind of risky work you guys do would likely make someone give some long serious thought to their afterlife. You may have always been strongly religious, I don't know but I am very curious to know how/if your experience has influenced your beleifs.

What the Bible says about war

Summary:
- God hates war; however, it is necessary to maintain order in the earth and overcome those who would like to destroy good.

- God sanctioned governing authorities to enforce laws

- However, God set boundaries (rules of engagement) or ways of conducting war for those ruling authorities in this matter.

- No soldier who is a Christian desires to kill another; however, the Lord Himself, did not chastise a Centurion soldier in the Bible in the matter of his occupation. On the contrary, the Lord commended this man for his understanding of authority and his great faith when he called upon the Lord to heal his servant (Matt 8:5-10).

- The Hebrew word for kill actually means "murder" or "to slay someone in a violent manner unjustly."

- It's all in the motive. Killing to protect oneself or others or in defense of one's nation at war is not "murder" and is not condemned by the 10 Commandments.

So. Again. Where will you be going when you die?

I'm 37 now and didn't become a Christian until 98. I was an atheist for much of my time in the Army. Some of my experiences influenced my beliefs. You bet! How could they not? Some weigh heavy on your conscious. It used to bother me that it bothered me so much. However, what you have to worry about is if there's ever a time when the bad things you do don't bother you anymore. That applies to anyone no matter what they do. Then your heart is hardened to change. God didn't let that happen to me.
